Question about Ariens Garden
I have an Airens Zoom 1944 with Kohler Command 19 hp, 44'' cut. It is 4 years old and until now has a great mower. The blades started ''bogging'' in slightly thick grass (mainly bahaia grass) last year. I replaced the deck belt with the factory replacement but it still wants to bog. The engine speed remains the same. For the first couple of years it would zip right through thick grass without slowing down, so obviously something is worn. It has an electric clutch to engage the deck belt. Could the clutch be slipping? The belt does not seem to be slipping because I've never heard it squeal. Any suggestions?
You mention many PM issues but do not mention a blade sharpening. I don't get on my ZTR without a freshly honed blade installed. "That's" what cuts bahia grass...the blade. You can put all the horsepower you want behind the lade but if you're trying to cut grass with a 2X4 it rips more than cuts grass.
