check the signal cable, there could be interference that causes a high peak that keeps the protection light on because of constant high output

My power acoustic protection light stays on i got good ground and a good positive connection, no speakers or RCA's hooked up, what could it be

Are you fused close to the battery with a 30-50 amp fuse block?
Ground unit also to most closest suitable location!
Is your power wire undersized?
Check units fuses you may have blown one hooking it up!!

The red light on the amp is staying on and the green light isnt coming on

its going into protect mode, meaning there is either a short in one of the transistors
or one of the jumper bars is loose, needs to be re-sodered. Easy fix.

Power protect light stays on my amp its a power acoustic ps2-820

Unplug all the speaker wires and try it again, if the amplifier turn on
yo have a bad speaker, if the ampliier still in protection mode, check all the fuses in the amplifier and near the battery,
if they are ok you have a bad amplifier
good luck
