You need to evacuate mositure with a vacuum pump and then add a can of r134a with oil in the can. Then add more cans without oil. Up to the amount on the decal under the hood.
The low side charge port is behind the passenger fender well. Remove tire and the 7 fasteners holding the plastic fender liner in.

My air conditioner is blowing hot air, where is the port so that I can add refridgerant?

The charging port is located in the larger of the two hoses/lines that come from the AC compressor, the fill port will accept only the right fitting from the charging source hose fitting. Before you add refrigerant you need to locate the leak, the refrigerant doesn't just disappear, it leaks out somewhere.. My guess would be the AC compressor front seal.

Hi have an 04 hyundai tiburon i dont know where to locate where to put freon for my aid condtioner

STEPS TO CHARGING YOUR CARS COOLING SYSTEM:

STEP 1) Look under the hood of you car on the left side of your cars engine. There should be two stainless steel lines coming from a stainless steel cylinder to your cars compressor. The two lines have plastic dust caps on them sometimes they are blue or black. Usally the black has the larger diameter tubing that runs between the evaporator and the compressor. This will be the port that you hook the refrigerant hose up to.

STEP 2) Start your cars engine after you have secured the hose hook up to the air conditioner line port. Once the cars engine is running, turn your cars AC on to Max cool. Shake the can of coolant well. The gauge on the can of coolant should read in the blue but if it is in the green your air conditioners pressure will be between 0-25 pounds per square inch. This means you will have to add refrigerant to the compressor.

If your cars air conditioner pressure is in the blue. The system has the proper amount of refrigerant and you do not need to add. If the gauge reads in the yellow you may want to seek professional help because refrigerant is not what is wrong with the unit and is probably something more technical and most likely something that you do not want to attempt to do on your own. The red on the gauge means do not add any refrigerant at all and to seek professional help.

STEP 3) If the pressure of your air conditioning system is in the green it means it is safe to add the refrigerant. You should wait for your air conditioning compressor to switch on before squeezing the trigger to add the coolant. When the compressor switches off then release the trigger and repeat until your pressure gauge on the coolant can says that the coolant is in the proper range. If the needle on the gauge is in the top part of the blue you have successfully charged your cars air conditioning unit.

STEP 4) Release the attachment from the tubing port and replace the dust cap back in it's proper place and you are done. The cars air should be cool and your compressor should cut off and on less often. If problems persist you should consult a mechanic or someone that has experience with air conditioning systems.

I have 2 problems, the low coolant light comes on and the air conditioning blows warm, does it have a leak in air conditioner and where can I add coolant (what kind?); and the security light comes on and...

Low coolant is detected by a sensor inside the plastic resevoir tank. These things lie, so if the resevoir has plenty of coolant, it's probably a dirty or faulty sensor. If you can't see coolant, add it directly to the resevoir. As for the A/C, you can purchase an A/C pressure gauge or complete check and fill kit at a parts store and follow the directions for using it. If the pressure reads low, with the car running and A/C on full blast, add refrigerant until you hear the compressor turn on. Check your gauge again. Once you have it to pressure, you should be good to go. If it never gets there, you have problems. If it gets there and stops working again days later, you have a slow leak.

My air conditioner is not blowing out "cold" air and makes noise

The anti coolant is what is added to your radiator so that the water does not freeze when the temp goes down and damage your pump. hence do not confuse this with the air conditioner. When you put on the a/c the load noise could be the engagement of the solenoid coupling your a/c compressor to the engine. If you notice within the bonnet for the gas filling inlet there must be signs of cooling. if not check over the condenser filter on the glass window for any signs of gas or gas pressure , smoky means low gas but a good pressure of gas indicates good visiblity. If not there has been a gas leak and your whole a/c system needs a check right from the compressor to the condenser to the cooling coils inside the dash. The leak has to identified by a pressure check with air filled, check for blocks before the gas can be filled. The compressor pump pressure must be checked or must be overhauled, replacement of the O rings, and reset. I hope you got an idea to proceed and hope I could help. Good day.

Do I need to add coolant to the air conditioner?

You don't need to add refrigerant unless it is cycling on and off quickly or isn't getting very cool, you don't want to over charge it.

How do I add coolant to the air conditioning system of my 2001 Hyundai Elantra?

You need to locate the low port on the AC.

You recharge the AC connecting to the low port.

You find the AC low pressure at the top of the compressor. Near the compressor you find two ports, the high port and low port.
You can follow the compressor line to reach the port.

To find out which one is the low port, run the air conditioner for a couple of minutes withthe engine on.
Then turn off the care and touch the lines from compressor to the two ports , often covered with plastic caps. Only one of the pipes will be cold, the line that is cold will lead you to the low port.
