KitchenAid Superba humming

We had to move our refrigerator recently and while moving it away from the wall it got stuck on a piece of vinyl flooring. I tipped it forward to clear the wheels and immediately it made a strange humming noise. Now the refrigerator has a low humming noise all of the time where before, it was completely silent. Also, how do I go about raising the front wheels to make sure it does not get stuck in the future?

First to adjust the leveler/wheels you will need to remove the front grill/toe plate. On the left and right sides you should see some bolt heads that are about 1/2" hex head. One on the left adjust the rear leveler/wheel and the other on the left adjust the front leveler/wheel. Turn the hexhead clockwise to raise cabinet higher counterclockwise to lower cabinet. The right side is the same.
Now to your noise, it sounds like you may have pushed the cardboard air dam under the condenser and condenser fan motor near the compressor up into the fan blade area. Carefully follow the source of the sound and you will find what is out of its proper position.
I hope I helped, supertechks

Refrigerator moves away from the wall everytime we open a door

I assume you are talking about the refrigerator doors. easiest solution is to place a piece of yardstick in front of the wheels so they can't roll. Don't forget you put the piece of yardstick under there - you will have to work extra hard to pull it out from the wall to clean!

When we open the doors the refrigerator moves

According to how it's moving "away from the wall"; the most likely culprit is balance issues. Does the unit move easily? Is the unit level?

The doors of my KitchenAid Superba side-by-side refrigerator are suddenly rusting ! What can I do??

Go to www.applianceart.com and get a refrigerator cover.
They have magnetic and vinyl options. I believe the vinyl option will work best for you because it will protect the surface and cover the existing rust.
These guys have lots of options available from solid colors to designs from artists and even stainless steel.
Hope this helps.

We purchased a new KitchenAid Side by Side Refrigerator Model # KSRG25FVBL01 that makes a loud knocking noise accompanied by rattling from the date we purchsed. We are getting runaround in getting it fixed...

The knocking noises heard from the Freon moving through the sealed system are perfectly normal and usually do not last long. Since the evaporator coil is mounted in the freezer section, the noise is usually louder there. Some people say it sounds like marbles knocking together.
Refrigerant (Freon) moving through the system can cause a vibration/rattling, especially as the compressor first starts up.
  1. Vibrating from top of cabinet Remove, rearrange or pad any stored items atop the refrigerator such as houseplants, coins, pens, etc.
  2. Vibrating from back or sides of refrigerator Move refrigerator away from water line in the rear or away from walls / cabinets along the side of the cabinet. Refrigerators with a static condenser on the back require a rear clearance of 3 inches across the top of the condenser.
  3. Vibrating from the bottom of refrigerator Level refrigerator so all 4 rollers / feet rest solidly on the floor.
    Hope this works.....

Freezer leaks since we moved it to fit vinyl flooring in kitchen

Generally there is a water tray at the very bottom that can be slide out and in with a hose attached to it. its for excess drainage.. with the moving of the refrigerator is sounds like maybe the hose can loose and causing youre puddle. I would start there first.

Filter broke off in the holder

I have recently had to remove one that the end cap had broken off but I don't think you will be able to get this one out. You will need to replace the filter housing. It's not hard to do. You just need to get the part, pull the 2 screws holding it in along with the wire off to the left side, remove the water hoses and install the new housing.
