Hello Collin, the problem that you will have that the replacement strips correspond to a lower screen size, you could have less illuminated areas, another problem would be the work tension, surely the 42 "strips have less LED than the 47, therefore the strip of 42 "would be working with a feed voltage calculated for the 47"
I suggest you try to get the strips for the measure 47 ", change them all, they are new, because for this work you must remove the LCD panel, very fragile element
I hope you can solve the problem

Fault at its main digital board. Short circuited component/s at it. Contact any service technician; or the authorized service center. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ In most cases, the main board might have to be replaced. If so, a software [firmware] update too might be necessary.

Faults & possible causes to LCD screen are given with illustrations. You can get an idea about the fault to an extent. Line faults to all LCD screen are similar, irrespective of its brand and screen size.
That is most likely a bad diode in the power supply. It will require repair but it should be reasonable. There are youtube videos showing the repair if you are handy.
Im not 100% that this is the cause, but it seems like it
If you hit the studs I would use a 7/16th lag screw at 2 1/2 inches. Not to make this sound like I am guessing, I put these up all the time for work. The lags should be included with the mount though.
