To resolve this, the following always works :-
Start, then Run, then type regedit
Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CURRENT CONTROL SET\SERVICES\MSIserver\WOW64
Right click on WOW64, then select Modify
Set Value Data to 0
Close regedit & reboot the computer

How to turn off safe search

Safe Search is a bad piece of malware that is part of the SafeSearch toolbar. You or someone who used your computer allowed this toolbar to be installed, possibly without realising it.
You may be able to boot up your computer in Safe Mode. Tap the F8 key repeatedly when you turn the power on. After booting into Safe mode do a search for "windows defender". If Windows Defender is there, try running it to remove SafeSearch. Also, there are 2 good malware cleaners that will remove SafeSearch and the toolbar along with it. The cleaners are AdWCleaner and Malwarebytes. Both are free. You can download either one or both from www. majorgeeks.com (Majorgeeks.com) . Try starting your computer in "Safe Mode with networking". On most computers (except Windows 8) repeatedly press the F8 key on your keyboard right after you turn on the power and before Windows starts to boot up. When in "Safe mode with networking" you can download and install the cleaner. Or, you can download the cleaner on another computer and save it onto a USB flashdrive and plug in the flashfrive to your computer and run the cleaner install from there. Or, go online in Safe mode and go to Housecall.com.

Sounds like it's a compatability issue. Try right clicking the .exe setup file and choosing run in compatability mode. Or you could try right clicking the .exe setup file and going into property's, run in, and choose run this file in Windows xp service pack 2 mode. Apply the changes and try again. If that still won't work make sure your PC is fully upto date and has all net framework packages installed. A lot of programs refuse to install unless you have all the necessary updates and frameworks and Java installed. It doesn't specifically tell you the problem. Just gives you an error on install.

Windows start up file corrupted. If you cannot access it through safe mode, you will need to reinstall or do a repair install of windows. As this netbook has no DVD drive ( as far as I can recall), you will need to EITHER boot from an external USB DVD Rom drive, OR if you have not got one of these, then you will need to go onto another computer, download this:

Hi there !

If there is problem on loading you window 7. Try to run it on safe mode by pressing F8 when starting to reboot your computer. When running on safe mode, windows will automatically fix some error regarding some loading problems.

After press F8, just choose run on safe mode and it will read and fixed all errors on drivers. Computer can crashed because of faulty drivers installed or too many same drivers installed. This solution will fix your problem.

I hope it helps you. Thank you for using FixYa !

Hello and thank you for reading, My computer won't stop rebooting itself regardless of what hard drive I plug in, it gives me the "Windows didn't start ... please use the up and down keys to choose...

When you say "regardless of what hard drive I plug in" worries me.

If you didn't install windows on the hard drive you're using while it was in your computer it won't work. Windows needs to see all devices as it is installed.

My best guess for you is to install windows again onto a hard drive.

Failing that you could download one of the linux O/S, say UBUNTU, and that will load onto your pc without installing so you can look at the data on the HDD's.

Finally there's the ultimate boot for windows CD which loads a windows shell onto your PC without installing and provides loads of diagnostic tools.

Both the last two items are freely available to download at the end of a GOOGLE.

One of your driver is acting up. start in safe mode, disable one of the drivers (DVD or whatever) then close and try to start normally. If the PC starts then reinstall the driver.

Starwars Battlefront 2: Wont Install I just finished downloading Starwars Battlefront 2 from: http://www.warez-bb.org/viewtopic.php?t=5343241&highlight= It says I need these requirements to play: (The words in the brackets are what I have) Operating system: Windows 2000/XP (Windows XP) Processor: Pentium 4 1.5 GHz (Genuine Intel(R) CPU 2140 @ 1.60GHz [2 CPUs]) Memory: 256 MB (1024MB RAM) Video: 64 MB (512MB) Sound card: compatible with DirectX 9.0c (DirectX 9.0c ) Available at Railway: 5.5 GB <- What does this mean? CD-ROM speed: 8x <- How do I check? Do I meet the requirements? I extracted it; opened up the file and inside there was 4 files: Disk1(712,674kb) Disk1(1kb) Disk2(367,454kb) Disk2(1kb) They are all MDF files. I open either of the Disk2 files and it has junk like DirectX, Docs, some setup-2.bin file? I open either of the Disk1 files and "Starwars Battlefront 2 Autorun" opens, it has four options, they're all in a very weird language, and only 2 of them are clickable.. The second one gives me this: ýòàïû çàïóñêà èãðû 1 - óñòàíîâèòå èãðó. 2 - ïåðåçàãðóçèòå êîìïüþòåð. 3 - çàïóñòèòå èãðó, ïðè ýòîì ïîÿâèòñÿ äèàëîãîâîå îêíî. 4 - íàæìèòå êíîïêó KPAK è çàêðîéòå ýòî îêíî, íàæàâ êðåñòèê â ïðàâîì âåðõíåì óãëó îêíà. 5 - èãðà çàïóñòèòüñÿ àâòîìàòè÷åñêè. I think it's a readme.. The first option opens an installer.. it's in that language.. I run threw the installer and it begins to installer, but halfway threw I get an popup.. I think it's asking me where I want to save something.. It has a bar where i'm suppose to put a path, the default is G:\, when I click ok is has ???? "setup-2.bin" ???? "G:\" ????. The ?'s meaning the random language.. I click browse and click on other options but it has the same result for everything.. Please help somebody!
