Question about AOpen AOI-906 Router (90.18A10.906)
I recently bought a wireless d-link internet network card and have installed the drivers and program and it says I have a excelent signal strength but then when i click on the internet it says cant connect to the internet.
This may be a stupid question. However there are three different standards that are used for Wireless communications that I currently know of A, B, and G. This device communicates using the G standard if I have researched it correctly on the web. Out of curiosity what is the model of the wireless cards that were put in desktop computers -- if they do not operate using the G standard that may be why they will not communicate. Other problems may be optional security settings such as encryption (not identified on for the computer's adapter) or MAC addresses that were not loaded into the router to permit communications.

none/blank. Initially, to acces some ISPs, the DLink would also ask for a password but once set will never ask again except when a reset is done.
On the old PC with the D-Link DWL -G122:
1. there is no need for a network key since you are not using one (as you posted) and therefore should be set to Open/Disabled/Not used;
2. When you installed the software from the CD that came with the D-Link USB wireless adapter on the old PC, other than the usual driver, it is highly possible that another software was installed. This is the DLink Configuration Utility which should be used to configure/connect the G122 rather than the built-in Windows WiFi Configuration. You can verify if this was installed under your Start/All Programs/D-Link Air USB/D-Link Air Utility. If present, use this to initially configure the G122.
hope this be of some help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need further information.
Good luck and kind regards.
