Question about RCA L32HD32D 32 in. LCD HDTV
When I turn on my tv it works perfectly normal, give it about 5-10 seconds and the screen goes blank - the audio is fine and continues to play even after the screen goes blank. When it first started to mess up, I had been watching the tv for a couple of hours, lines came in the screen and a few minutes later the screen went blank, I can turn it off and back on the picture is there for a few seconds then goes blank.

Typically this failure is due to the backlight inverter going out. On this model of tv there were two runs with different parts. Open the back of the tv and open the control box. If you see a large black circuit board on the top, replace that one. If its tan then you need to take out the control box and remove the black plastic backing. If you're looking at the back of the tv the inverter will be on the left side of the control box. Its a long skinny board that has 8 black metal squares on it. Good luck and be careful.

You may have failing 24vdc power supply or dying backlight inverter board, you need to check the 24vdc after the screen black out, or look at the sreen in the darkened room to see any glow from the screen, which in that case the problem can be in the T-CON or the main logic board.

SOURCE: Picture & sound shuts off
I had a similar problem with my Phillips 42 in. LCD HD TV.
Here's the problem. The Power Supply Board. I opened my TV up(warranty was up of course) and found several bad capacitors. Phillips and several other companies were sold capacitors that although were highly rated failed within 5 years because of a lack of preservatives. All sorts of electronic equipment is now being effected due to these defective capacitors.
1. Take it in and have it fixed
2. Open it up, check the board for faulty capacitors(bulged or leaking) Buy a new Power supply board and install it.
3. Remove PSB, remove faulty capacitors and replace with compatible new ones.
Hope this helps
