I have a shark hand held vacuum which I have used twice and now the rotator brush won't spin. I have taken a few hairs out of it but there doesn't seem to be anything stuck or lodged as I only used it for reaching a few cob webs. How do I fix it?

After removing the debris try manually rotating the brush roll to uncover other hidden clogs. Another thing to take note of is the condition of the bristles on the roll itself. Are they loose or worn down? These are signs that your brush roll is in need of replacing.

While checking out your brush roll you might as well take a look at your vacuums belt. This could be the other reason why your brush roll has stopped spinning. Your belt should be replaced about every three months. After regular usage, the belt will stretch out, lessening the tension on the brush roll. Lesser tension diminishes the brush rolls turn rate and speed. If the belt feels loose then it certainly is effecting your vacuums suction as well as your brush roll not moving at all.

check brush by spinning with fingers it should only take slight pressure to rotate, if hard to rotate disassemble head and remove any carpet or hair strands

Those things work off of suction, which spins a cog wheel that rotates and spins brush via a small belt. Disassemble the brush and check belt. Make sure the apparatus is clean and free of debris

I am having the same issue. The brush won't even move when I turn it with my hand. I just posted this same question.

The 2 metal pins of the motorized brush are not in contact with the vacuum cleaner. or the Motorized brush is clogged up. You have mentioned that it is cleaned, but still give a thorough inspection. For the metal pins, firmly insert the motorized brush into the air-intake nozzle. This will connect the motorized nozzle to the unit power supply.
