You will have to check the owners manual for actual instructions, but if there is a knock out on the side you want the vent on, it is usually possible. Normally you will need to remove the back panel and rotate the vent and add a lengthg of duct to reach the side panel and connect the rest of the vent.

Need to change venting from back to right side

there are knock out panels on both sides of the dryer. knock out the one you want to use with a hammer and flat head screw driver or chisel/ you will then have to remove the back and disconnect the vent going out of the back of the machine and reinstall a new hose or pipe on the outlet where you removed the vent and run it through your new hole to the outside vent.

Dryer not heating

Your dryer lint vent pipe out the back of the machine or maybe out the side is plugged. You have to pull the machine out and clear that pipe or rebuild it out to a soffit vent or static vent if it is in the attic, or out through your crawl space. This will make a huge difference. If that hot air and moisture doesn't get out of the machine it just goes back into your clothes.
Good luck!!

Need to replace existing back vent to side vent. Is there a kit

From underneath the machine you can install a side venting kit. It can be vented to either side on electric models. Part number is 3911EZ913X. You can order parts by calling LG at 888-393-6484. Hope this helps.

you would need to "punch out the metal" , youl also need to remove the fron tof the unit(2 screws approx 3-4 inches down form inner panel, holding front panel on, ( youll need to remove the top of the dryer( a few screws across the back of unit.) andthen disconnect the dryer belt(easiest acess through a small acess panel on lower rear of unit, pull the dryer drum out and youl see the existing ve, just a matter of attaching a 90degree elbow and running vent out the side instead of out the back. DISCONNECT POWER TO UNIT FIRST!!!!!!!!!!

I'm not sure about this with your machine but look low on your front panal. Most have two screws holding front panal on. Usually hidden in the character line along the base.(Clips will hold the the upper under the top...just flip up the panal it will pop off.) I hope this helps.

You can order a side vent kit for it or make one yourself. The kit has a couple of extensions and an elbow that will turn the exhaust out the knock out on the side. You can pick up everything you need at the hardware store but the kit has precut pieces and installation instructions. If it is not a big inconvienience to wait for it, I would recommend you order the kit through a maytag dealer or sears. That way you have the right pieces and instructions to follow.
