Receipt header dissappered after changing journal size

Go to system options and set E/J to off then you hard journal will be on

Have you checked to see if the paper is in the correct way round, most tills have a receipt turn off mode. Consult your manual to find out how to switch back on

RECEIPT or JOURNAL ON / OFF MODE
Turn key to "X" (Manager Mode) then
Press "4"

The REG. PRINTING ON/OFF screen displays.
Press the "YES/NO" key to toggle from receipt on to receipt off.

3 turn back to REG

That is normal. They use compressed print in order to save paper. Do you want to make it larger like the receipt side?

not knowing what the model is I suspect the machine suffered a power surge or got a spill

The 3700 is a drum printing register, so it has no header since it can't print text. If there is one at the moment, then it will be cut into the stamp. to remove the stamp, lift the receipt paper roll, look in the back of the receipt side of the printer where the paper goes into the slot, there is a little handle. Pull it, and the stamp will slide out. take it to a stamp maker and they can cut your details into it.

Hi. The PCR-T470 is only a single roll machine, so if you had them printing at the same time, you would be handing the customer your journal when you gave them their receipt. This machine can be setup either as journal only (in which case you use the black takeup reel that sits inside the printer housing), or receipt mode (in which case you have the paper coming out of the front of the printer cover). The best thing about single roll machines is that when you have them in recipt mode (recommended), you can print the journal out of memory whenever you want. to do this, turn the key to X mode and press RC button until you see 'electronic journal', then press CASH to print it. you might be able to reset the journal by doing the procedure in Z mode (the manual isn't clear about this). Give it a try.
