Question about Thermos Stainless Steel Gas Grill

How do I replace ignitor switch in thermos gas grill, if this is what is what I saw?

Grill itself wouldn't light. Looked under BBQ and I saw a wire hanging down with what looked like a white probe on the end of it. I could see 2 very tiny copper wires on very tip of this probe and a ring around it was rusty. I cannot get it to re-attach where it looks like it came from. I believe it is the ignitor switch, but am not sure. Must I replace my ignitor, and if so, are there and videos/web help I can get to safely replace this by myself? My Grill is a Thermos Select Char-Broil Outdoor Gas Grill Model #: 461620307 Serial #: G304020701 000479

The switch is a button on a black box that holds a battery. The igniter is connected to the switch with a wire. If the wire is broken, you need to replace the whole igniter. The igniter (with wire) and the switch are both available for a few dollars pretty much anywhere that sells gas grills.

If that white is ceramic, I think it is the actual ignitor, not the switch.

Ignitor on gas BBQ no longer works. Replaced battery and cleaned out chamber (light rust). I've tried to remove the ingnition housing, but the entire front panel of the BBQ needs to be removed. Suggestions...

Check to see if the probe where it sparks to the burner inside the grill is clean and not shorted by grease or other gunk and the burner itself in this area is not too heavily rusted or corroded. If not, short of disassembling the whole grill and replacing the spark module, spend $2-3 and buy one of those pistol type grill lighters. The ignition systems on BBQ grills rarely seem to last long.

Replace ignitor on Thermos BBQ

You have to remove the front panel but It's not too hard. Remove the left and right side trays, about 4-5 screws each. Front panel will then come off readily. Detach the electrode wires from ignitor box first. Wear old clothes and gloves.
