Question about Gaggia Titanium Espresso Machine

1 Answer

Doesn't produce steam out of the steam wand for more than 1 min.

My Gaggia Carezza Silver Espresso maker has the exact same problem. If you turn on the steam setting and the knob to full, it only produces steam for a bout 45 seconds to 1 minute and then slowly stops producing steam. I have tried descaling it with a descaling product and nothing has worked. I don't know if it would be worth it to try to fix it or just to buy a new one.

Hi.
That sounds like you have a bad steam thermostat. You can replace that your self. Its the thermostat on the top of the boiler.
The other one is on the side.

Gaggia TS Espresso Machine although my machine seams to work OK, It does not seam to produce much steam any help would great

Their is a grait posibility that the steam want is blocked from dry milk that is why you have weaker steam out. So you can first try to boil only water for some minutes and then leave the steam want in for more than 30 minutes. Then try the steam again and posibly the dry milk will be spit out. You can even boil the water with some cooking soda in it which can help more.
One more think that can help to clean the steam wand is to use a thin flexible steel wire in the steam wand so it can clean it more.
This is the most posible solutions you can try.
Good Luck

Gaggia won't prime

Put a cup under the steam wand and then open the steam valve while turning the pump on. Once you have pumped a few ounces of water out of the steam wand you can close the valve and it will start pushing water through the grouphead.

No steam

Is the coffee hot or cold?

If hot then the steam wand is clogged, try inserting a paperclip in the hole(Remove the parnello black plastic covering silver steam wand) at the end of the nozzle.

If cold then the element is not heating, if you remove the top panel on the machine there is a thermostat on the boiler. That might be damaged, some of them are resettable (it will have a red or brown pin in the middle) if it is a resettable one then push in the pin, if not then it will have to be replaced.

Plastic "Turbo Frother steam nozzle" blows off metal steam pipe

Pull off entire plastic wand off by unscrewing the top plastic piece. Inside the piece that connects to the screw top you should see two o-ring type spacers. The top one should be hard pastic and the one beneath should be rubber. Take the entire unit apart and clean, making sure to put all pieces back in the way they came out.

To put back on, take the top piece and put it back on the metal stem first then put the rest of the wand back on and gently push it as far up the metal stem as possible and screw back together. If you don't have the rubber spacer this could be the problem since the wand really has nothing grabbing onto the metal stem except for the rubber spacer. If this doesn't work, order another wand:

Steam wand works, but no water for espresso

I have found that I have to remove the group valve assembly about once every 1 or 2 months to clean out the .030" to .040" opening in the valve body. The manual gives instructions on how to do this. It becomes clogged with a thick paste like substance.
