How to fix a broken speaker on a crosley cr40 turntable?

My crosley cr40 record player's left speaker isn't working anymore? Is there any way I can fix it? Would hate to throw it out and buy a new one, it's only two years old.

If the voice coil to the speaker is damaged, you have to replace it with an other one.

SOURCE: Needle slides across the record on Crosley 5 in 1 player

you have unscrewed the suspension screw?

also check the needle for dirt and dust... try blue tacking a 5p coin to the top on the needle to give it a little more weight, if the needle stays in place then the arm balance if off, and unless there is a mechanism to adjust that on this turntable then i guess its a return!

SOURCE: everything works on my record player but my turntable doesnt spin

This happened to me tonight. I had the same problem, to activate the player on you need to move it to the right until you hear a click. If you don't do it it won't start. Even if all the power is on. This should fix everything!

SOURCE: My Crosley turntable is spinning too fast at 33RPM

Mismatch speeds on older turntables is normally due to either 1) a kink in the speed switch mechanism or 2) a hardening and slipping of the rubber drive wheel.
A very small motor with a chamfered shaft drives the rubber drive wheel, and the wheel is moved by the speed control up and down the drive shaft to produce various rpm speeds.
In your case, it's likely turning at 45rpm because it isn't settling onto the 33rpm part of the shaft.
Piddle with the speed control, then count the speed (number of turns in a minute) You'll figure it out!

Blown speaker

Swap the speakers around to make certain it's the amp that causing the problem. Since stereo amps are two mono amps put together you have one good channel to compare the other one with. Sometimes a visual inspection will show what's wrong with it.

Speakers

It's possible that a small pre-amp has failed inside the unit. Hence the low volume.

My Crosley CR40 makes a humming noise whenever it begins to spin on its own. It sounds like a cat purring. Note: this product is brand new.

Check all the cables and connections IE to the cartridge. If the problem continues contact the dealer who sold it you.

I have purchased a Crosley cr40 mini turntable which has a american ac adpater. I bought a universal adaptor and my record player started spinning but a small plume of smoke started coming from the plug...

It could be the adapter is just faulty, but you can't tell to you get power to the unit if any part has failed inside (most liklely the transformer if it has).
I found this step-down adapter on amazon which should do the trick, not expensive either.

Hi. I have a Crosley CR40 mini turntable. When I turn on the power, the vinyl spins but when the needle is placed on the vinyl, the vinyl doesnt move anymore while the spinner underneath it is still...

It sounds like you have too much pressure on the tone arm. Check the underside for springs. You might be able to remedy the problem the old fashioned way. Tape a coin onto the top of the tone arm, as far to the rear as possible. This will eliminate some of the downward pressure onto the record.

Crosley Record Player Stopped Spinning...

I had this same problem with my Crosley 704 and it bamboozled me to no end.

After digging around I dug up the manual online (I bought mine used so I didn't have one to consult). It turns out the record stops when it gets to the end, and to get it spinning again you have to lift up the tone arm and move it right (past the holding latch) until it clicks, and voila, it starts spinning again, ready for a new record.

You'd think that they coulda made it more obvious :(
