You may have accidentally lowered the feed dogs. Look for a toggle switch that will raise them up again. Mine is to the left of my power button.

SOURCE: started sewing backwards now not moving material at all

Sounds like the machine's age is causing the lubrication to get sticky.

Try changing the pattern by moving the pattern selector around.

Take out the bobbin and remove the thread and presser foot, raise the presser lever, set the pattern to zig zag, set the stitch length to maximum and run the machine at full speed. While it's running, repeatedly press the reverse lever all the way down. Run it for at least a few minutes.

Check to see if there is a bunch of thread under the needle plate preventing the feed dogs from returning to run position.

This may mean having to take the needle plate off and really looking

Problem with feeddog on my sewing machine

When the feed dogs have been dropped, some machine feed dogs will not become activated (rise & move backward & forward) until stitching is begun.

Be sure the stitch length is set high enough to actually cause the feed dogs to move forward & backward.

If they still do not move and your machine is mechanical (not computerized), the old oil may have solidified and is preventing them from moving. A good cleaning and oiling may be required. Other than that, it may need service.

My Needle just stitch in one place

check in the manual and see where the feed dog lever is a check to see if it's in the up position for sewing or in the down position for darning, if it's in the up position, then the machine needs to be checked to see if there is something wrong with the feeddogs or the feed dog lever..

Won't sew, the fabric stays in one spot

is the problem the fabric is not moving forward but staying in one spot? which would mean the feeddogs need to be checked to see what position there in --up for sewing---down for darning
or the thread is not feeding into the machine?

Dog feeds not working

check the feeddog to see if there in the up position, you'll be able to see & feel the feeddog teeth with your fingers,, but if you can't feel them the check the feeddog knob or lever.
if the lever is in the up position & you can't move the lever or if you can move the lever up or down & the feeddogs don't move there position
then it's possible that there's something wrong with them & the machine will have to be serviced

Feeddog only moves up and down instead of in a shifting back and forth motion. The material is not moving through. Sews in one spot

look in your manual there is a switch, slide or something that will move the feed dog back to the original position, you have it in the free hand mode lij=ke for free hand embroidering or darning

Sewing Machine Problem, Please Help?

I suspect the feeddog is in need of lubricant or it needs an adjustment, it's probably on top of the machine.  Go to www.sewusa.com and see if they have a manual so you can see the location of the adjustment knob.
