Failing that, and lack of pinout, serial communications can be done with only 4 connections, Transmit and Receive (TX, RX) ground (GND) if you do it with no handshaking. You'll need Data Terminal Ready (DTR) and Data Set Ready (DSR) and or CTS/RTS (Clear/Ready to end). You may have to trial and error it.

Pin 1 - Carrier Detect (CD) - only needed for a modem
Pin 2 - Receive Data (RX) - Cross over with TX
Pin 3 - Transmit Data (TX) - Cross over with RX
Pin 4 - Data Terminal Ready - Cross over with DSR
Pin 5 - Signal Ground (GND) - Goes to other side ground.
Pin 6 - Data Set Ready (DSR) - Cross over with DTR
Pin 7 - Request To Send (RTS) - Cross over with CTS
Pin 8 - Clear To Send (CTS) - Cross over with RTS
Pin 9 - Ring Indicator - Only needed for modem

Creative 9 pin male din damaged

The only way to go is Replace the 9 pin adapter. Radio Shack may have the adapter, check them out. You will need to be observant when locating the proper colored wire corresponding with each pin. Two ways to do this and all require a soldering iron. Either split or open the cover on the 9 pin male adapter and expose the wires going to each pin. Identify the colors and pin numbers and draw a diagram on paper to keep for reattaching the wires later on. Cut 1/4 of the insulation back from the end of each wire and tin the wires. In short, hold the solder to the wire ends and heat with the iron so a flow of solder runs along the bare wire. Make certain to put a connector cover onto the wires prior to soldering each wire in place on the pin end. Simply set the correct colored wire end in the proper pin number, hold the iron to the pin back end and allow the wire to affix itself. Do this with all wires. If you do not have 9 wires, that is not unusual, just do the procedure with what wires are available. If you cannot get the outer jacket off of the current 9 pin connecter, then you will need a Volt/Amp meter. Here you simply cut the wire approximately 1/2 to 2/4 Inch back from the cable 9 pin adapter, and locate the pin that corresponds to the colored wire. Using the RESISTANCE part of a meter, when you touch the two probes together the needle moves on the scale. Touch one end to a pin and try each colored wire end until you see the movement on the scale. Now you know what color corresponds with each pin. Solder each colored wire as mentioned above.

Stator regulater connection

Hi Jeff, probably because you have a weak connection, check for corroded, broken or loose pins/sockets then perform the following tests:
1. Fill acid type batteries to proper levels.
2. Charge battery overnight at 1-2 amps you need 12.5 volts or better after charging.
3. Hook up battery positive cable, then with your multimeter on the milliamp scale connect one lead to the negative battery post and the other lead to the ground cable. Meter should read 3 milliamps or less, 10 milliamps with a radio, 15 milliamps with radio and CB. If your meter reads higher you need to isolate the circuit by pulling fuses and circuit breakers one at a time and observe meter for drop in aprerage then get out your test light and track down the short in that circuit.
3. Make sure all connections are clean and tight especially the negative cable at both ends.
4. Hook up volt meter to battery and start engine, if meter falls below 9.5 v while cranking replace battery.
5. With engine running at 3600 RPM battery should read 14.3-14.7 volts if not continue tests.
6. Unplug voltage regulator from alternator at crankcase by front of primary cover.
7. To test voltage regulator go to: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F8EjV0IjW9Q
8. With ohm meter, one lead grounded, touch alternator pin meter should read infinity, if not replace stator.
9. With ohm meter, both leads touching alternator pins meter should read 0.1 to 0.2 ohms on 1989 and later models. 0.2 to 0.4 ohms 1988 and earlier models, if not replace stator.
10. With volt meter set on AC scale, both leads touching alternator pins meter should read
16 to 20 volts AC for every 1000 RPM'S 1989 and later and 19 to 26 volts AC for every 1000 RPMS. If not replace rotor.

Installed mother to new tower case and pwr sw | hd led | reset | power led connecting to my board is the Intel dq67sw 155 matx motherboard need accurate dir to connect these please help

info found at http://downloadmirror.intel.com/19707/eng/DQ67SW_ProductGuide01_English.pdf
Front Panel Header Pin info for DQ67SW. They should be color coded too. 1 Hard disk LED + orange
2 Power LED+ green
3 Hard disk LED - orange
4 Power LED- green 5 Reset Switch - blue
6 Power switch + red
7 Reset switch + blue 8 Power switch - red
9 Power Out (do not use)
10 No pin
NOTE When connecting individual wires from your chassis front panel to the front panel header, be sure to observe the connection polarity. Positive wires are usually solid color and negative wires are usually white or striped.
There is also an alternative pin header if you have a power wire that uses a 3 pin connector instead of a 2 pin connector. It is the 3 pins just past pin 9, and it should be missing the pin in the middle of the 3 pin block. The pin closest to pin 9 is the power led + and the furthest from pin 9 is the power led -.
if you need clarification, check out page 50 of the manual posted above at intel.com

Wiring separated from 9 pin female Rs-232c serial adapter

strip off an inch on both ends of the wiring you are trying to connect. Connect each wire with the same color. Example if the 9 pin side wire is yellow/blue then the other end needing to be connected will need to be yellow/blue. Twist them together and use a terminal splicer to fastened and protect them from touching each other. Do this until all wires are spliced together color for color.
