Re: I want to replace the hard drive in my sony vaio...
On the bottom of the laptop where the battery is there are different panels under one of those panels is the hard drive. the panel will be about 10cm to 15 cm long.
Re: I want to replace the hard drive in my sony vaio...
Sorry but Sony Vaio's hard drive is not available in market in loose form. And I can understand that you were trying same thing. So I would like you to recomment another brand like Samsung & Kingston for extending your Vaio's hard drive. they provide whole series of all laptop hard disks, including Vaio.
If this solution was helpful to you then please rate 100% (or FIXYA) for this solution, otherwise don't rate at all. It was my pleasure helping you.

The VAIO VGN-T350 is a notebook computer designed and
distributed by Sony.
The hard drive on your Sony VAIO VGN-T350, which is the unit
that stores data, consists of many clusters of data that can be rewritten with
new data.
If you are looking for a memory capacity upgrade, or if your
old hard drive is having errors, it's time for an upgrade.
Upgrading the hard drive on your Sony VAIO will require the
use of a screwdriver and will take you about 30 minutes to complete.
Turn off your Sony VAIO VGN-T350 and remove the power cord and any other
peripheral components.
Turn over your Sony VAIO VGN-T350 and locate the hard drive
chamber on the bottom of your laptop. It will be clearly labeled.
Use the screwdriver to remove the screw holding the lid in
place.
Gently lift the hard drive and its cage away from your
laptop and disconnect the data cord.
Remove the four screws located at the corners, and then
remove your old hard drive from its cage.
Place your new internal laptop hard drive into the cage and
replace the screws.
Connect the data cord to your new hard drive and place your
new hard drive into its chamber.
Close the lid and replace the screw to complete the
operation. http://www.fonerbooks.com/laptop_1.htm http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rg_GvaMunas Sony Vaio Hard Drive Replacement This might not be your specific laptop it might give you
an insight into the hard drive installation.
system not found in my experience generally leads to a damaged or loose hard drive, try to open the cover at the bottom side of the machine, and reseat the hard drive, if it still says system not found, get a 2.5 inch drive case, put your laptop drive in the case and connect it to another machine, if you can access the drive great! save all your files and once complete return the drive to your machine and try to reinstall the OS from a dvd then reinstall your files.. and if still having the same problem replace hard drive thanks.
you can try to go to bios pae and check if the system can detect the hard drive. If not you might need to call call Sony to check if the system is still on warranty so that they can replace the hard drive free of cost if not you might need to replace it with a new one
Use Restore System; Restore Computer to Factory "New" Condition.. Sont Vaios have a Key Prompt which you hold down while booting and the Replacement Software already on a Sector of the Hard Drive. Check THe Manuel for this OR CALL SONY CUSTOMER SERVICE AND JUST GIVE THEM THE MODEL NUMBER AND ASK THEM WHICH BUTTON YOU PUSH ETC TO RESTORE THE COMPUTER TO "FACTORY CONDITION"
