The clean temp is very hot, sounds like the seal leaked. Try painting it. They do make an enamel appliance paint if you can find the color.

The conversion kit you purchased from Sears will work with any door opener and has the latest security feature but the bad news is your keypad will not work with it. If you want a keypad you must make sure it is 315 mhz and Security +. It would be Sears latest model.
