I am assuming that the iron gets hot but the steam tank and other steam parts remain cold. The thermal fuse is probably bad. This part costs about $2 but you need to know what you are doing to replace it. The thermal fuse is located in the middle of a wire attached to the top of the water tank.

SOURCE: Need a cap gasket for a Rowenta DG5030

I showed the part to my husband. He took it to our local Aubuchon Hardware and bought the same size gasket for 59 cents. I just tested it out and my iron works just fine now. The one from the hardware store is black, vs the Rowenta one which is green. Who cares what the color is, no one sees it anyway. However, if you have to send your machine for repair for something else, they may not honor your warranty as you've now added after-market parts. Just thought I mention that. Good luck.

SOURCE: MY rowenta Iron wont produce steam. IT heats up

Sounds like the Steam control valve is blocked or not opening. try cleaning the iron with a kit from wallmart or similar store. Failing that :It may be cheaper to buy a new one from wallmart or similar store.

Dg5030 steam is not working

Sounds like you may have a buildup of calcium in the water line. Try putting in some LimeAway and letting it sit overnight to clear it out. The drain the LimeAway out refilll and steam a few times on scrap cloth to get all of the cleaner out, see id that solves the problem.

The tank in my rowenta iron is producing steam but the iron is not producing steam

Yes the iron needs to be cleaned. They do have a descaler to clean. the Steam valve with a electronic switch is broken, that is what opens and lets the steam out of the iron when you press the button.

How do I fix the steam on/off switch on my rowenta dw9280

I have the same issue. The steam on/off switch fell into its cavity and does not work. Looks like the plastic housing on the top of the iron can be removed, does anyone know how?

No steam. I pressed the steam button on the underside of iron handle and no staem.

There 's a leaked capacitor in the circuit board. You just have to replace it and it works again.

No steam, button jammed

Hi,

I posted a similar fix under Rowenta DG-980 troubleshooting section. You may be able to pry off the soft rubber cover and access the switch assy and initiate a "surgical procedure".564568
Are you working on another iron similar to the DG-980 posting elsewhere on the FixYa website?

As for the Rowenta manufacturer, you can "Google" the Rowenta website at http://www.google.com typing in Rowenta and looking specifically for the Rowenta home website to get manuals, PDF reader and other good stuff. Please advise if your problem is fixed. I'm in SoCal and been to the UK only once.
