I was given this camera as a hand me down, but without an installation disc. It takes great pix, so I'd like to use it. I have the cable to connect to my pc, but don't have the driver. Before I take it on a scenic tour to the dump, can you help?
Doesn't your computer have a plug and play usually XP will recognize the cameras try making sure camera's are working then plug them in without turning them on then try and turn them on and see if computer recognizes them if not go to the cameras web site and look up drivers they usually go back at least 8 years sometimes even more. Try www.helpdrivers.com/cameras/Polaroid/PDC640
Good luck
If you use a memory card then you don't need a driver.
Once the card is plugged in to a card reader attached to your computer, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo management program such as Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ).
