My son has a PSP and it won't work for him now. We got it out and tried to turn it on and it won't. When you try to turn it on the green light flashes and does nothing else. Any suggestions?

Re: PSP won't turn on
It seems your psp is bricked you may want to create a pandora battery together with the memory stick you can find lots of guide on how to do it and here is one of the best and most easiest way to create one ( you need to create a username first before you can read the guide/download the files ) ...here is the link

u can try a reset on ur psp
turn onn psp n remove the battery while its on
then reinsert the battery
and turn onn
and the press the select button and go to reset device
it will restore the default settings
and then u can try playing
You can try a hard reset. Do this hold the power switch in the upward position for over 10 seconds. This will cause the machine to reboot. Leave it alone for a few minutes then try switching it back on. You may have to flick the switch on twice to start her up again.
If it still has a hard time try changing the battery for the one in your sons machine.
MAKE SURE that all apps etc are closed on the PSP first and do the hard reset BEFORE you remove the battery on BOTH machines. Ensure PSP is OFF before removing battery. It is possible the battery has been overcharged or just given up. If the console operates with the other battery you know you need get a fresh one. Consider getting a high power one for extended life.
Let us know how you get on. May have more info for you.
Have you tried ejecting your battery pack? I've had a problem like this. But I don't recall the green light coming on for 15 seconds. Anyway, try ejecting the battery pack and putting it back in. If that doesn't work, then... I tried.
Start with the PSP turned off. Press and hold the R button when your turning on the power. Turn it off again, then back on. Sometimes this works. If not, your PSP is probably Bricked.
This means that you done something to interupt an upload or program in progress. The eeprom program is corrupted and the PSP will not boot up. The term Bricked, refers to your PSP being no better than a black Brick paper weight. I have heard of a repair for this called Pandoras Battery. I am not sure if the Pandoras battery really works to restore Bricked PSP's. It may be worth a try for you to take a chance on Pandoras Battery.
it probably froze try and remove battery. if that dont work turn it on and wait a second then hold the power switch in the off position but do not let go until it turns off that should completey restart it.
