If you have more than one memory module installed, try removing one, then other.
If not, you must try with an equivalent module...
Always remove the battery and mains before removing memory modules and follow antistatic precautions...

These tests are called POST or Power On Self Test. When a test fails, the user is notified via POST codes, Light codes, or Beep codes. For diagnosing Beep codes you need to:
  • Power on the laptop or restart it if it is already on.
  • Listen to the number of consecutive beeps when the computer begins to boot. Restarting the laptop may be necessary and should not harm the laptop at this time.

Dell Inspiron N5010 4 beep error

This may help. The 4 beep code error in Dell Inspiron N5010 mean Memory read / write failure. Try draining the residual charge and check if you are able to boot. Here are the steps:
  • Disconnect any external peripherals (flash drives, printers, external hard drives) from the computer including the battery and AC Adapter.
  • Press and hold the power button for 20 seconds.
  • Reconnect the battery and the AC Adapter. Try to restart the computer and check.
Please make sure that the memory modules are firmly reseated and there is no dust accumulated on the memory slot on motherboard.

I have a dell inspiron 1750 laptop... when i turn it on it say "Memory write\read failure at 0C034000, read 03EC00EC expecting 03E03EC To resolve issue, try to reseat the memory. Decreaing...

1. First thing to try (least expensive) is to REMOVE the memory stick or sticks and RESEAT them back into their respective slots. Boot up the laptop and check for results.

2. If this does NOT work, remove them again, clean the copper ends with CLEAN pencil eraser.
RESEAT them and check results.

3. Purchase replacement memory sticks/modules.

NOTE: Turn-off your laptop AND unplug A/C adapter. Be careful removing these modules. Touch each module at the corners.

Please advise of results.

Memory write/read failure at 000510784, read EA05E805 expecting EA05E805 . To resolve try to reseat memory.

Hello.

To reseat the memory modules, disconnect all cables and remove the battery. Flip the laptop and remove the memory cover (has one screw). Remove the module(s) on a slant. Reinsert in place. Replace the memory cover. Insert the battery. Connect the a/c adapter and power on.

If you receive the same error, replace the memory. Can be found on the Dell site.

Hope this helps.

At boot up my Dell Inspiron 8000 laptop gives a "Memory write/read failure" error message and will not continue booting. How do I solve this error and boot the laptop?

Check your memory, On the bottom of the computer is a small door to access the computer main memory. Check to see if it is not knocked loose - reseat it. and then it may be bad -and will need to replace it.

I cant boot up my computer(memory address line failure)

This is clearly a problem with the memory. You can try two things:

1) Remove and reseat the memory sticks (with the unit unplugged)
2) Swap the boards around. Windows is not very tolerant of errors in the lower portion of memory. Swapping around the boards will change the relationship of physical memory addresses to virtual addresses. At the very least, the memory swap may help to determine which memory stick is defective.

Please keep us posted.

Black screen saying to reseat memory

Theres no risk losing any data if you reset the memory.

If above doesnt work you could trying taking the memory out and cleanng the connection points with a soft cloth.

When placing the memory stick back in -making sure it sitting straight and securely on the board (memory shouldnt move if put in correctly) .

Try booting up the laptop now...good luck.

Memory write/read error on start up

Do not post your service tag on any forum, it is private data and needs to be protected (some turkey tried to get some stuff from Dell on a friend of mine's account using her tag she had posted)

If the system will post and boot, try flashing the BIOS to the current version. Then try each RAM module one at a time. Generally, only one module will fail at a time. SO take one out, boot to BIOS (SO it recognizes the RAM quantity change) then see if the system boots without error. If it does, then the module removed is likely bad. If the error still occurs, try the steps above with the other module. If errors occur with only 1 module, replace that one.

If errors occur with either module, you may have a motherboard issue. Or, very unlikely, 2 bad memory modules
