Question about LG KC910 Renoir Cell Phone

LG KC910, 'Please wait' message been on for a while after updating failed. tried everything above. removed sim. only thing is haven't got another sim to put in. please help. not impressed with shoddy LG

've just had a nightmare trying to update my KC910 using the LG Software Updater. As described in a couple of postings here... it locks up with a "Please Wait" message. You can't get past this point until it's fixed.

I fixed it (after good advice here) by:

  • downloading the Manual and Software Updater from http://uk.lgmobile.com/web/web.product.manualSoftwareRF.laf.
  • removing the battery and sim.
  • installing the USB driver first using the Updater.
  • choosing Support->Emergency Recovery
  • entering my IMEI and SN
  • starting the upgrade (a different application starts) before connecting cable.
  • entering my IMEI and SN again
  • allow app to fail
  • connect cable - click "retry".
At this point the upgrade proceeded well. It took about 20 minutes.

II have bought an lg kc910 hand on o2 and no sim is recognised

You need to go to a phone shop that stocks 3G sims. Get a $10 sim (a blank free one probably will not work). You didn't say whether you were on a pre-paid sim or a plan. Anyway call 3G and ask them activate it. Get the number off the sim before you ring them. They will need U to quote that. hope it helps :o)

KC910 keeps repeating LG logo and cannot start normally


heyy mate i had the same problem and fixed it easy. follow what i did;
take out the battery and sim card and mem card
download http://my.lgmobile.com/web/web.support.retrieveSoftwareUpdate.laf once downloaded open it connect the phone by cable (with battery and sim out)
click on customer support on the top
the recovery phone enter the imei and s/n (on label where the battery goes in)
then choose the model KC910 then ok this will take around 20 mins ( ur phone should work fine after this) email me on johndfilms@googlemail.com and let me know how u get on or for more detailed instructions thanks

Phone locked


to unlock kc910 lg renoir first remove sim card then turn on phone press call then
type in your keypad 2945#*910# then select
unlock usim then select network lock and type in 0792034201079318 then select ok
your phone in now unlocked

CANNOT VIEW PICS SENT TO LG RENOIR KC910 PHONE.


Normally you'll need Vodafone to send you both the MMS and Internet connection settings. Then once received an save take your battery out of the handset without switching it off, remove your SIM for 10 seconds. Put it back together and send yourself a MMS and you should now be fully set up.

Alternatively here are Vodafone's settings:

Access Point Name: wap.vodafone.co.uk
Username: wap
Password: wap
Authentication: Normal
Data bearer: GPRS
Gateway IP (proxy) address: 212.183.137.12
Session mode: Permanent
Port number: 9201
MMS Message (Relay) Server URL: http://mms.vodafone.co.uk/servlets/mms/

Problem when updating phone

Phone will crash and go into endless please wait
even tring to reupdate will fail.

Luckly had old phone so put sim card noticed that this stopped loop problem try'd update again success.

REMOVE SIM CARD BEFORE UPDATING (worked for me)
