The keypad interface is bad, you would need to replace that and then it should work great. Let me know if you run into any trouble or have further questions and I would be glad to help.

good luck

SOURCE: Kitchenaid dishwasher on the fritz, 5 yrs old pd $865.00

The part you need is the console, what happens is moisture gets into the 'keypad' and causes corrosion shorting out the trails. The keypad is not a serviceable part it comes complete with the console which is not too hard to replace. I can help you with that if you want.

The part number you need is 8574148, it also has substitute number of W10083998

You can try calling Kitchen Aid to obtain the part or look in the yellow pages in your area for an appliance parts dealer. If it were me I would try KitchenAid first you never know they may cut you a break since you are a loyal customer...... if you know what I mean....

Kitchenaid kdte304dpa0 "add dish" light blinking won't run cycle.

Only thing you can try that is simple is to disconnect it from the power and wait a couple of minutes, then connect it back If it is wired direct then you need to shut off the breaker

Clean light keeps blinking and I cannot get dishwasher to start cleaning dishes. It seems to be hung up.

If it blinks 7 times, then pauses, then 7 times....over & over, then the computer control has failed to see an increase in water temperature during the last cycle. That means the heater could be out, the temperature sensor is out, the heater drive circuit is bad, there is not enough water or the water is not circulating properly. The newer models have different blink sequences that mean other things. On most models you can press hi temp wash>heated dry>hi temp wash>heated dry in quick succession to enter a service mode. All the lights will come on, then after the control clicks a few times, just press cancel & the control will be reset & you can run another cycle. If it does the same thing again at the end of the next cycle, it will need repairs.

Clean light blinking

If the clean light blinks four times and then pauses and then blinks four times again and repeats, the problem is your pump motor. If there is water under the DW the pump clamp has probably failed and sprayed water onto and inside the motor. Call a certified Kitchen Aid repair service.

Which dishwashere auto resume wash cycle when door is closed?

All the tall tub dishwashers made by Whirlpool (inc. Kenmore and Kithcenaid) must have the start button pressed after adding a dish. If the start button control light is blinking, you must press start. On those models with buttons on the top of the door you must, in addition, close the door within aprox 5 seconds after pushing start. Hope this helps. Ken
