Why has screen on my Garmin Nuvi 2515LM device gone blank while still plugged in, and why won't it liven back up ?..

A Garmin Nuvi 1300 that won't start, freezes on 'loading maps,' or is acting erratically is symptomatic of having corrupt firmware.

To correct this, I recommend backing up your favorites, clearing all user data, and if it still is stuck, then updating your Nuvi firmware.

Follow these three steps to take to get your Garmin Nuvi 1300 running like new:

1. Back up your Favorites.
2. Perform a Hard Reset.
3. Download and then run Garmin WebUpdater to replace its firmware / system software.

try connecting it to your computer via the usb cable. that may reset it. outdated maps will not cause this problem.

My garmin Nuvi (205 I think) just stopped working...blank screen, does nothing? Was working fine a few hours ago. Car plug in lights up when plugged in but still nothing.

Reset button behind the Antenna, press this in for a few seconds.
Use the Web-updater at Garmin, to update it too,
Jack it to a PC and run the update,
If still playing up, Use the Firmware update at Garmin for it,
(( google Garmin 660 software updates ))

Sounds like corrupted firmware. Go to www.garmin.com and download their webupdater. Run it and connect a USB cable between your Nuvi and the PC. Let the webupdater look to see if there are any firmware updates. If so, install them. If not, let it reflash your current version.

I called garmin and they walked me through the solution - select the NA map version under settings and restart.

Have you installed anything lately? Do you have any sd card installed? Usually this is the cause for it to crash. There is a reset on the bottom of the nuvi, when it locks up blank, press the reset button and see what happens...

My ? Nuvi 710 GPS froze. I restarted it , now all I can get is a blank screen with a black dot in the bottom left corner and a message saying press dot. Holding the off switch over to the left makes it restart but still goes back to the same screen Is there any way I can fix this?
