Laptop monitor bad color and flickers continuely, but when attached to external monitor, works fine

I'm going to take an educated guess here, because it sounds like the monitor's interface controller is bad. I forgot the name of the thing, but it's a small circuit board that's normally located at the bottom of the panel frame, between the flat ribbon cables and the round hinge cables.

Intel Integrated Graphics will give decent resolution performance but is not an optimal graphics.
Ensure you are using the optimal resolution 1366x768 pixels. Using a lower resolution will give you a unsatisfactory display.
If you still don't like the graphics, you may need to add an expansion video card.

Ace 1 aspire computers works fine but the screen comes in fuzzy and unclear.

Bad connection from the motherboard to the screen, maybe a loose VGA cable
It could also be an overheated graphics chip, does the display appear to "shimmer" as well as being fuzzy?

Try cahnging the resolution and screen ratio, see if that helps first

Out of the blue, the icons on my desktop are fuzzy/wavy. One day fine, the next fuzzy/wavy. I hooked up another monitor and got the same result. Any suggestions!

I'm assuming that you have tested the other monitor by using another cable so in that case the video card on your pc is dying, replace it.

Your monitor settings are not correct or you have a bad monitor cable. Wide screen settings are sometimes hard to figure when you have a wide screen Westinghouse mntr. Unclear images

Remove the rear cover and adjust the focus control on the flyback. Use a non-conductive probe, available as adjustment tools from any radio shack. On the FBT (Flyback Transformer) you have two protruding adjustments - one marked screen, the other focus. The screen adjustment increases the G2 voltage to the crt and brightens the picture by increasing the voltage exponentially. You don't want to adjust the screen voltage. The other is the focus, you can easily turn that clockwise or counter clockwise and watch the screen to set it at your preference.
Hope this helps.

Fuzzy unclear movie

This can be a defective CCD which senses the images.
Random moving lines and color patches are the symptoms.
We can provide this in 3 to 4 weeks from Sony.
