SOURCE: how do I change the temp gauge on a john deere
The temperature gauge is built into the instrument cluster and it needs to be changed as a unit.Try removing the wire from the temperature sensor and ground it to the frame of the tractor to verify that you do need the instrument cluster replaced, ground that wire will drive the gauge to hot if the gauge is good and nothing will change if it is defective. If grounding the wire made it work then you need a temperature sensor.Good luck and let me know how you make out!

SOURCE: Intermittent PTO Problem on John Deer 6400
You likely need the speed sensor replaced in the rear of the tractor, either above or below the pto shaft. There is also a pto relay module beside the fuse panel that may need to be replace(only on the early 6000 series tractors, later it was replaced by the bcu).If you can get the codes from the bcu and relay the info to me i can likely tell you for sure what you need to do if none of the above works.
SOURCE: I have a john deere 6400 that wont start from cold
i had the same problem, it is most likely that your fuel lines are leaking and fuel pump in tank is weak
when the tractor sits for a while the fuel drains back into the tank, thus your injection pump has no fuel in it.i solved it by replacing all the lines and i added electric fuel pump on outside of tank and connected the power to key, when i start the tractor i turn key on for a minuet or so than start the engine ,it solved the problem.
