Carrier Comfort Zone 2 flashing E2

My carrier comfort zone 2 thermostat keeps flashing E2 and is not cooling my house properly. Does anyone have any idea what this warning light means and how I can fix this issue?

The e2 error on your thermostat is a problem with the return temp sensor on your system, the only thing you can really do is call a company and replace it, you can't bypass it or remove it cause the system wont run properly

My Carrier guy said that E2 means a low voltage problem. He also said that E1 means a high voltage problem, but also threw in the comment that without high voltage there would be no low voltage either, so it could read E2. In my case, the evaporator is up in the attic and there is a float shutoff switch that shuts the unit off when the drain is stopped up and water backs up into the pan--so that the water doesn't run down onto the sheetrock on the ceiling. So the shutoff switch cuts off the low voltage and E2 shows on the thermostat. Clean out the drain and the water doesn't back up into the pan any longer.

E-2 was flashing on my Carrier thermostat and sometimes it maybe caused by a boken return temperature sensor but this time it was a burned out pump motor on the side of my unit downstairs that pumps out the condensation. Good Luck.

Due to thermister fault this problem occurs. if not go for pcb replacement.

Our zone 2 heater was not turning on, and E2 was flashing on the thermostat. We solved the problem by changing the batteries in the thermostat.

For all wall mounted and Artcool split system codes

Error code = C1 or CH1
Flashing Light = 1
Fault = Indoor temperature sensor open or closedcircuit.
Display = Indoor.
Indoor Operation = ON

Error code = C2 or CH2
Flashing Light = 2
Fault = Outdoor temperature sensor open orclosed circuit.
Display = Indoor Outdoor.
Indoor Operation = ON

I suspect that if you change the battery in the thermostat. All will be right again.

Our Carrier Comfort Zone II thermostat, which has 2 zone readouts, currently shows a temperature of 00, as in zero zero, on one zone. That is the main zone for our home. Zone 2, for spare bedrooms, etc....

I noticed they have an option of talking to an engineer, and perhaps they could explain how to reset or set the unit.

Go to panal and reset control. Small reset button on control board. Let me know if it clears.James

Blank readings on Carrier Comfort 3 zone thermostat


The stat that works is called the main and the other two are called slave stats. The stats must be set to heat or cool the same as the main. If you want one room to cool and one to heat , sorry. Need to upgrade to auto changeover. Is this AC actally a Heat pump?

I get the error code E2 It only shows 2 zones on my 4 zone syst


I reset the circuit breaker to the panel and everything is good now.

Thermostat issue with comfort zone II.


Is this an electric or gass furnace - Eather of these can can have this problem its most recomendable that you call a seviceman .
in the case of electric furnace you may requier a new heat sequencer. And in the case of gass you may requier a new relay.

Carrier Comfort Zone ii - trying to find user manual


Your description leads me to believe you have 2 thermostats. How long have you lived in the house? Did it work for you lately? Sometimes its just the door switch. If you have to remove it to change the filter or had it off for another reason hold the switch in by hand and try it. then check the door for correct channeling in the grooves provided and see if this is it.

My Heat will not work on my upstairs unit. I am getting an E2 error code on my carrier thermostat. what does that mean?


the e2 code on a carrier comfort zone thermostat is indicitive of the external safety sensors which are located on your units ductwork in the attic. the e2 code are the hpt/ and lat sensor codes. the hpt is the heat pump temperature sensor and the lat is the leaving air temperature sensor. you can pull off the cover of the panel and behind it will actually give you all the fault codes associated with you carrier tsat.each sensor has a certain ohm rating and if its out of the range it will fail. now as to the reasons for failure, the indoor coil could be dirty, filters dirty, refrigerant charge incorrect.
