Unbalanced washer This is probably an easy fix, but I just don't know what exactly is causing the problem. My Whirlpool washer has become unbalanced, but not in the usual way. When we set it up years ago (about 8), we adjusted the feet on the bottom and we've never had a balancing problem since. Washer runs fine. Just the other day though I went to put a load of wash on and the washer tilted to the back left corner. I pulled the washer out and checked everything out, thinking that one of the legs just needed to be adjusted up or down. That is not the case here. I have checked everything I can think of out and the adjustable legs can not be adjusted enough to fix this problem. I thought at first the front right leg must have gone up too far, but after checking it out, the problem is not the front leg. It appears that on the back of the washer, down low to the bottom, there is a bar that connects the left and right sides. Right now, on my washer, the left side slides up and down in a slotted area, but the right side does not move. I can't tell if the left side has broken and that is why it is going up and down, or if the right side is jammed or broken and that is why it isn't moving. It looks like this arm or bar that goes across the back of the washer is connected to both the adjustable feet and perhaps I'm wrong in this, but is this bar suppose to do the balancing in the back? Any idea how the back is suppose to be? Is this washer set up so that bar is suppose to move up & down, or is it set up so both right & left sides are suppose to be firm and not move? Anything else I need to know in order to fix that back left corner so the washer doesn't tilt to that side? Other than this bar not moving on the right side, but moving on the left, I can't find any other way to adjust that back left side so the washer doesn't drop back in to that area. Please help with some ideas of my next step. Cindy
