Hello,

The unit will not go past the alignment screen until it gets a good calibration alignment. Be sure to click as close to the little + marks with the stylus as you can. If the click is to far from where it thinks it should be then the alignment will fail and start over.

I hope this helps, if not let me know

Sounds like you may need a digitizer, the thing you write on. If there are any gouges, dents, deep scratches or cracks, that could do it. i-however- 2 things to try first just for giggles though if there are no cracks: #1. Use your joystick & enter button to navigate through the Start Menu to Settings>>System>>Screen>> Align Screen and align the screen. Worth a try. #2. There might be some crud stuck between the edge of the digitizer and the edge of the case. That can give you phantom key presses. Take a piece of stiff paper or thin plastic and run it *gently* around under the edge where the case covers the screen to scoop out any stuff that may have settled there. Those blister packs that cut you up when you try to open them works well, credit card is too thick for my taste. #3. If it's been around water, there's a very slight chance that putting it on top of the clothes dryer for a few loads will dry it out.

First check to see if any of the buttons are stuck. If that doesn't help, try a few simple things with the digitizer, the thing you write on. It could be stuck. If there are any gouges, dents, deep scratches or cracks, that could do it, it's toast - but self repairable if you dare. -However- 2 things to try first just for giggles though if there are no cracks: #1. Axim x5 Won't get passed alignment screen

I've heard some keep aligning and after a time it eventually works. 200 to 300 times.

I tried 7 then took the advice of a techie that said to gently twist it like wringing out a wet rag. Put hands on the top and bottom and gently twist back and forth.

It worked for me.

Be gentle

Get to Start menu

I have same problem but found a work-around. I have found that 2 SD cards kept in the pockets in the flip over cover of my leather case has caused scuffing to the touch screen and the screen will now not align properly. In the alignmet utility I have to tap the centre of the alignment cross in the middle and 2 top positions and tap about 3mm above the cross in the bottom 2 positions (portrait format). This means of course that the bottom of the screen is out of alignment and I have to tap high at the bottom of the screen but I have got used to it. Not great, I know, but its better than nothing.

Black screen keeps popping up

If a black box appears on the screen, and a small amount of the picture is visible around the border, it means that your closed captions are on and set to TEXT. Go back into the menu, navigate to the closed captions page and set the captions to OFF.

PC 2003 for e350

Microsoft recently introduced Windows Mobile 2003, which is the latest upgrade to the Pocket PC's operating system and built-in applications. The previous version of this software was referred to as "Pocket PC 3.0" or sometimes as "Pocket PC 2002" (for the year it was released). But the new naming scheme for all of the software built into the Pocket PC is meant to emphasize the relationship between the mobile device and Windows, Microsoft's classic brand. Unless otherwise indicated, whenever I refer to a Pocket PC in this article, I mean a device running Windows Mobile 2003. Not all of the features listed in this article are available for all Windows Mobile 2003 devices since some of these features require additional hardware such as a Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, or a keyboard. Along with Windows Mobile 2003, Microsoft released ActiveSync 3.7, an upgrade to the software used to synchronize data between the Pocket PC and the desktop PC. This article focuses on the new software from the perspective of an end-user—the improvements that make using a Pocket PC an easier, more enjoyable experience. In summary, Microsoft improved the operating system, enhanced communications capabilities, added some useful features to some standard applications, and included a new multimedia application and one new game. Windows Mobile 2003 uses the Windows CE 4.2 OS One of the major changes, and one that may not be obvious to the end user, is that Windows Mobile 2003 uses the new Windows CE 4.2 operating system. Previous versions of the Pocket PC used Windows CE 3.0. The 4.2 OS seems to be more efficient than the previous versions. Windows CE 4.2 also supports Internet Protocol version 6.0 (IPv6), which is being used now in Japan and will soon make its way to this country and the rest of the world. This will ensure that Pocket PC users are able to connect to the next generation of the Internet using the current standards. Added support for built-in and add-on keyboards Recognizing the success of add-on keyboards and the desire of some manufacturers to develop units with keyboards built in, Microsoft enhanced keyboard support in Windows Mobile 2003. When a Pocket PC with the new OS detects a keyboard (built-in or added), it automatically enables "menu mnemonics" (those underlined visual hints in a menu that tell you which keys to press). It also enables "Auto Menu Accelerators" (chorded keys such as Control-C for copy) so you can navigate even faster. On Pocket PCs with an integrated keyboard, navigation and application keys allow you to launch and move around in applications. Finally, the addition of the "SYM" key makes it easier to enter accented characters for foreign languages. Enhanced communications Windows Mobile 2003 makes the setting up of communications a lot easier. Plug in Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, a wired modem, or turn on your LAN connection and a "wizard" pops up to walk you through the process of configuring th

E740 pr3170u-1p052-model? and tomtom 3

As far as I know there is no PPC2003 upgrade. Normally there should not be any problem with TomTom3. If you want try to install a last image 1.06.23.xxx. Check please Toshiba download site. I have found info that TomTom5 can not be used with Toshiba PDAs. Not yet. Since October that should be possible. Check TomTom web page.
