SOURCE: Kenmore range stopped working after self clean cycle

It will help to know the model number from the oven, but F2 usually indicates a failed temperature sensor on most ovens. If this is the case on yours, it will have to be replaced for the oven to operate again.
Post back with the number and I will see if I can help.Thanks/Mike

SOURCE: Kenmore Range

Okay...if the clock assembly appears to be working and the oven light comes on, but nothing else is working, I would double check your input power at the receptacle. You will need to unplug the range and check voltages at L1 to neutral and L2 to neutral. There should be 120VAC on each leg. It sounds like you are missing 120VAC on one side of the receptacle. I believe the clock and oven light will still come on, because they only utilize a portion of the input voltage. The elements, however, require 220VAC. Another way of checking for input voltage is to pull the range out so you can access behind it. Unplug the range and remove the back cover so you can see the terminal board where the power cord is connected. There should be three wires from left to right (BLACK, WHITE, RED). BLACK is L1, RED is L2. There will be 120VAC on each one of these lines when you plug the power back into the receptacle. If you place a meter from L1(BLACK) to NEUTRAL (WHITE), you should have 120VAC. The same is true when you place a meter across L2 (RED) and NEUTRAL (WHITE). If you connect the meter across L1 (BLACK) to L2 (RED) you should have your full 220VAC. If either leg (L1 or L2) is missing, the range elements will not work. If you check in this manner, you not only will be able to confirm whether or not you have proper input power, but you will also be determining whether or not the power cord is good. This may be a simple matter of a loose terminal in the back of the range, or...I have seen where consumers have wired them incorrectly. Check for the following in this order:

1. Double check you breaker to make sure it is not tripped (I know you said you already checked it).

2. Unplug range and check for proper voltage at the receptacle.

3. Remove back cover of range and verify correct wiring of the power cord.

4. With range unplugged, ensure all terminal lugs are properly tightened.

CAUTION: Do not attempt to tighten the terminal lugs with the power cord plugged in. Also, do not attempt to service the receptacle (repair or replace) with the power turned on at the breaker. Votages dangerous to life exists. I hope this information is helpful to you. If you have any questions or concerns, please post back with your comments.

SOURCE: kenmore elite 790.3670 oven door locked

I held down the clear button for three seconds, it unlocked but still showed the lock button lit. It began beeping over and over. I opened the door and pressed the clear button again for three seconds. It stopped and the oven works just fine now. In fact, I used it right after I got it cleared out.

My Kenmore Elite Range Model C970 oven is not working, the stovetop is working great.

Model no. c970 xxxxxxx
there should be a 7 digit number after the 970 this is needed.

Now if it has a rotary knob to run the oven chances are it has shorted and needs replaced. if you are going to do this your self be sure to unplug the range because 220 volts will kill you no question.

Good luck.

I have a Kenmore 790.96224 electric range and the burners and oven do not work, but the clock is working. how do i fix?

Try replacing ONE stovetop burner and see if the new one works. If it does, replace more stovetop burners. If the new ones all work, replace the oven burners.

If that first replacement stovetop burner STILL doesn't work, don't replace any more. Instead, check (or have checked) the circuit breaker for the range. It may get power from a second source to power the clock.

My Kenmore oven won't work there is a PF 5AB error

The PF on your control indicates a power failure and should be removed by pressing the cancel button. The 5ab code indicates the range is in the SABBATH mode.

If a power failure occurs when the SABBATH mode is set, the oven will return to the OFF mode and will turn the power OFF to the oven.

* Open the oven door
* Press both the HOUR "UP" and "DOWN" arrow pad at the same time - and hold for 5 seconds.
SAB ON will disappear from the display.

To disable SABBATH mode: Repeat the steps above and SAB OFF will appear.

To set the SABBATH mode for use during the SABBATH/Holidays:
* Press BAKE
* Pres TEMP "UP" and "DOWN" Arrow pad to enter a different temperature other than 350 degrees. (Between 170F and 500F)
* Press HOUR/MIN "up" or "down" arrow to set cook time
* Press DELAY START to set a delayed cook time (optional)
* Press and hold TIMER OFF for 5 seconds
SAB will appear on the display indicating it is ready.
* Press START
* To STOP cooking - press STOP/CLEAR
* To exit the SABBATH mode and return to normal operation - press and hold TIMER OFF for 5 seconds.

Sears Kenmore Elite Oven 790.99123405 Caught Fire!!!

The PF indicates a power failure.
The range experienced a loss of electrical power.
This code is usually cleared by pressing the CLEAR/OFF button.
If you continue to get this code, you may need to unplug the range and check the wiring connections of the power cord on the back of the range.

My oven doesn't work

PF probably means "Power Fail." Check your manual to see if this is true. It seems that there is a bad connection or wiring somewhere on the path to the range that is causing the voltage to droop under load. Ensure the plug for the range is firmly seated in the socket and make sure the plug feels like it is making a good connection and is not loose.

The fuse is likely located behind the back panel on the range. If you feel comfortable doing your own repairs, disconnect power from the range and remove the back panel. Locate the fuse, remove and inspect it. If the fuse is okay, re-seat it and try running the oven again. You can also check the line voltage while the oven is running with a volt or multimeter. If the voltage droops excessively while the oven is on, this indicates a bad connection or inadequate wiring. If the voltage is okay, the oven controller might be malfunctioning. If you aren't familiar with using checking the line voltage, you might want to call and electrician or appliance repair man. Is this range under warenty?

Kenmore Electric Self Cleaning Stove 790.95660103 Oven On All The Time

There is a relay in the electronic control of your range that is stuck closed causing power to be applied to the element continuously. The relay is an integrated part of the control and isn't replaceable.. The repair would be to replace the electronic control(clock).
