Agreed!... Something in the 'setup' configuration has become corrupted and without KNOWING exactly where that corruption has occured, just simply remove the previously installation and reinstall MS Word.

When you restart a Microsoft Office program after a power failure or similar problem, the program automatically opens any recovered files.
If for some reason the recovery file didn't open, you can open it yourself.

1. On the Standard toolbar, click Open .
2. On the Show pop-up menu, click All Documents.
3. Locate the folder that contains your recovery files.
Each recovery file is named "AutoRecover save of file name."
4. Open the recovery file.
5. Click Save .
6. In the Save As box, enter the name of the existing document.
7. When you see a message asking whether you want to replace the existing document, click Yes.

Any recovery files that haven't been saved are deleted when you quit WorTips

• If you can't open the recovery file, you can try to recover the text from the damaged file.
• To find out or change where your recovery files are stored, click Preferences on the Word menu, and then click File Locations.

Try to remove yahoo messenger and re-install it again.
If you can't uninstall it try this:
1) Log out of Yahoo Messenger and close yahoo messenger completely [ it should not be running under task manager as a process ]. 2) Open Start Menu >> Control Panel. 3) Double-click on Add or Remove Programs. 4) Locate Yahoo Messenger in Add or Remove Programs. 5) Click Change/Remove button. 6) Restart your computer, if it doesn't restart it automatically. 7) Open Yahoo folder in Program Files (C:\Program Files\Yahoo) and delete it. 8) Open registry through Start Menu >> Run and type regedit now navigate to the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ Software\ registry entry, delete Yahoo, and exit the Registry.
If the above method does not work for you, try the following methods to solve the problem.

Setup cannot find Enterprise.WW\EnterWW.cab. Browse to a valid installation source and then click OK. I am installing MS Office 07 and midway through the install this is coming up. Any answers to this...

Hi There,

When it asks for the "valid installation source", direct it to the installation CD drive where the MS Cd is. There's a good chance it will heal itself that way and move right on ahead.

I cant open my MSword

f Word is not launching for you at all or is crashing or freezing as soon as it comes on the screen, odds are your global template is corrupt or something is loading automatically in your Word Startup folder that is misconfigured or corrupt. To see if it's a corrupt global template or some add-in that is loading on startup, go to your Start button and click on Run. In the Run box, type "winword.exe /a" (without the quotes, but WITH the space before the slash). If Word launches OK, then it probably is either a bad normal.dot file or a corrupt add-in (since this switch launches Word with a clean, empty template and no add-ins). To get yourself a new, uncorrupt template, simply close Word and search your computer for normal.dot and rename or delete it. (If you find more than one, rename or delete ALL of them.) When you launch Word again, it will look for normal.dot and if it can't find it, it will create a new one.Use reginout to fix ur registry key error

One possible cause is the default template file, Normal.dot. You will have to locate it and delete it. To locate it, search the C drive. Make sure you are searching the hidden files. Once you locate it, delete it and any file like ~ormal.dot. That is a hidden temp file Word creates while working on a document. Then restart Word. Once you restart Word, the Normal.dot will get recreated.

My MS Word 2007 has been giving me problems for about a week or so. It's part of MS Office Home and Student 2007. The problem is that it keeps freezing up on me and I lose typed text. Eventually I can...

Rename all instances of your document template files (Normal.dotm or Normal.dot). This will prevent formatting changes, AutoText entries, and macros that are stored in the global template (Normalm.dot or Normal.dot) from affecting the behavior of Word and documents that are opened.Renaming the template will let you quickly determine whether the global template is causing the issue.

When you rename the Normal.dotm template in Word 2007 or the Normal.dot template in Word 2003 and in earlier versions of Word, you reset several options to the default settings. These include custom styles, custom toolbars, macros, and AutoText entries.

The only way to modify the add/remove programs list is to edit the registry. If you are uncomfortable doing this, get someone to help who is, or just leave the registry alone.
It's best to back up the registry in case you make a mistake.
To back up your registry, see this article.

On to the fun part. Follow these instructions exactly. Note: this applies to Windows XP only. If you have Windows Vista, please modify the question.
  1. Click Start, and then click Run.
  2. In the Open box, type regedt32, and then click OK.
  3. In Registry Editor, locate the following registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall
  4. In the left pane, click the Uninstall registry key, and then click Export on the File menu.
  5. In the Export Registry File dialog box that appears, click Desktop in the Save in list, type uninstall in the File name box, and then click Save.
  6. Each key listed under Uninstall in the left pane of Registry Editor represents a program that is displayed in the Currently installed programs list of the Add or Remove Programs tool. To determine which program that each key represents, click the key, and then view the following values in the details pane on the right: DisplayName: The value data for the DisplayName key is the name that is listed in Add or Remove Programs.

    -and-

UninstallString: The value data for the UninstallString key is the program that is used to uninstall the program.
  7. After you identify the registry key that represents the program that you removed but which is still displayed in the Currently installed programs list of Add or Remove Programs, right-click the key in the left pane of the Registry Editor window, and then click Delete.

Click Yes in response to the "Are you sure you want to delete this key and all of its subkeys?" message.
  8. On the File menu, click Exit to quit Registry Editor.
  9. Click Start, click Control Panel, and then click Add or Remove Programs.

In the Currently installed programs list, verify that the program whose registry key you deleted is no longer listed.
  10. Do one of the following:
    • If the program list is not correct in Add or Remove Programs, double-click the Uninstall.reg file that you saved to your desktop in step 5 to restore the original list of programs in the registry.

      -or-
    • If the program list is correct in Add or Remove Programs, right-click the Uninstall.reg file on your desktop, and then click Delete.

The "Normal" template opens whenever you start Word, and it includes the default settings for your new documents... as well as any customizations you may have opted for along the way. Sounds like your version of the normal template now includes the text of this document.

On the File menu, click Open, and then navigate to C:\Documents and Settings\user name\Application Data\Microsoft\Templates and look for "Normal.dot". You may need to change the Files of Type drop box to "Document Templates" to see it.

Open the file, select all the text you see there and delete it. Save the file and close it. You should get clean pages now when you open a new document.

Alternatively, you can use Windows Explorer to navigate to that same directory and delete the entire Normal.dot file. MS Office will simply create a fresh one when you launch Word again.

Hope that helps!
Good luck.

MS word won't pull up

CLEAN INSTALL needed here.
This is a nice little FREE utility you can try. Install Microsoft "Windows Installer CleanUp Utility"  http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301/en-us
If you find (PROGRAM NAME) listed just hit the delete button.
Then do the normal uninstall.
Try un-installing again, but this time after the un-install, shut down completely for at least 30 seconds, and then restart.
Then do a search for 'all files and folders' - search for both Office and then  Word, with the options "Search system folders", "Search hidden files and folders" and "Search subfolders" checked. Delete all of those files found.
You should do this search and delete whenever you un-install any programs. It will remove lots and lots of leftover junk files and corrupted files taking up room on your hard drive. It will also give you a "clean install" when you reinstall or install an updated program. (Do this ESPECIALLY when updating to a NEW anti-virus programs and “Internet Security Suite” programs such as McAfee or Norton etc.)
BEFORE RE-INSTALLING Office or MS Word
Download and install "Registry Mechanic" then do the updates prior to running it and removing anything for the first time. This will get rid of all your current Registry errors, prior to installing or reinstalling.
