Our /samsung side by side has an intermittent squealing sound. Could it be the circulation fan and is this a simple repair?

Defrost the freezer. You probably have a slow leak in the icemaker. One of the models had a recall on that. The air vents in the back of the refrigerator fill up with ice and eventually reach the fan. If you defrost it and it comes back, have the valve replaced.

My LG ice maker fan is making a really loud noise right after the water stops going in

Hello, Self-defrosting refrigerators use a circulating fan to move air through the freezer and refrigerator compartment. This fan runs when ever the unit is cooling. The fan is located in the freezer, as follows:
  • If the freezer is on top, the fan is on the back wall, near the top or bottom, in the center of the freezer.
  • If the freezer is on the bottom, the fan is on the back wall, near the top of the freezer.
  • If the freezer is on the left, the fan is on the back wall, half way up or near the top.
Overtime the fan may become noisy, usually making a chirping or squealing sound, though it may make a loud groaning noise instead.
To find out if the fan is causing the noise, just open the freezer door and push in any fan/light switches, if the noise is louder when the door is open, the evaporator fan motor is the cause. You can lubricate or repair this motor. You must replace it.
There are three components on the outside back of the refrigerator that may become noisy: the compressor, the condenser fan motor(if self-defrosting), or the defrost timer (if self-defrosting).
Thanks

Samsung side by side refridgerator rs2630sh freezer not working other side is

Open freezer door, pull evrything out so that you can see back inner wall, look at plastic housing and see if you have ice/frost building from bottom to top of plastic cover, if so you have lost the ability to circulate air, drain possibly plugged up or evap fan not working or possible other cause. If you see ice/frost buildup shut refrig down for four days and let thaw (be sure to put towels aroundthe front of door area of freezer, the power back up and see if after starting if the fan comes on with the freezer door open and you holding in on door light switch(s). If fan does not come on within a few minutes of holding door switch(s) then evap fan is defective, call a repair tech or call samsung.

Maytag refrigerator side stopped working -freezer side fine #MSD2758GEW

SOunds like it is the FF(Freezer Fan) this problem is very hard to detect as the fan will turn, but not enough to circulate the air thru the freezer and refrigerator. The minimum cost to repair/replace the fan assembly is around $300.00

Beeping sound coming from control panel model#10656562400

Hi!
Self-defrosting refrigerators use a circulating fan to move the air through the freezer and refrigerator compartments. This fan runs whenever the unit is cooling. The fan is located in the freezer.
Over time, the fan may become noisy--usually making a chirping or squealing sound, though it may make a loud groaning noise instead.

To find out if the fan is causing the noise, just open the freezer door and push any fan/light switches. If the noise is louder when the door is open, the evaporator fan motor is the cause which can't be lubricated or repair instead required to be replaced.

Please do rate this solution as FixYa and revert for further assistance.

Washer squeals during wash & rinse cycles.

It sounds like you're brake stator & rotor is worn and merit replacement, it would also be prudent to replace the thrust bearing as well since you'll be in the same area for the repair. The way to verify is to place the unit in spin & allow it to reach speed then open the lid. If it squeals then the repair would need to performed, if it does not then further troubleshooting would be needed. Hope this helps... Bill

Changing the circulation fan in freezer

Just becareful you do not cut yourself on the evaporation fins. Let the unit thaw out before attempting the repair is at all possible. It is pretty simple and easy. Do not let the fan blade bind up against the shroud or the motor. If it is a condenser motor use the new screws that come with the motor. Clean out the coils before you replace the motor while you have the old motor out. Pay attention to how the wire connect in case you get side tracked by a diversion. Write down how it all connected so you will not have to guess in the event you get an unexpected phone call or other distraction. As alway have the power shut down when doing any repairs on electrical equipment.

Side by side makes a whistling sound--Model RS2630

I have the same frig-- The sound is coming from the litttle fan behind the frid. Take the bottom silver cover off and you will see the fan in a plactic white frame thing. Unplug it and then put a little oil inside the fan motor-- (oil based solvent). You may have to take it out of the plastic frame. To get the oil into the motor really good. Just use some 3 in 1 oil or wd-40. You will probably have to repeat this every couple of months. But it gets rid of that awful nosie. I also found that if you give the frig more air to circulate than the oil will last longer. Meaning don't put the frig so close to the wall. Oh please remember to unplug the frig first. I hope this helps.
