Why my 92 eldorado taps when i drive it for 5 min it goes in in out help me i dont no

What is the oil pressure when ticking starts? How many miles on engine? How often do you change oil? What oil do you use? What brand filters do you use? Is this a Northstar engine?

High mileage Northstars (and others) will have tappet noise as they wear. You might try adding a quart of Marvel Mystery oil at next oil change, but if low oil pressure is the problem, try changing to a slightly thicker oil, say 20-50. If you don't know what the oil presure is, install a mechanical guage. I had a freind with a low pressure problem on very high mileage car who began using straight 50W oil and car ran another 3 years/60K miles before dying.

Possible power steering pump failure

The starter enable relay is located taped to harness 5" rear of front edge of left rocker panel channel.

Your tranny is going out. I just had that happen with my 88 Sierra and now it works after it was rebuilt.

Check out drive shaft joints and center mount bearing.

You did good at noticing the noise. Depending on the price and the condition of the car I would say you did the right thing. Due to the fact that they could say it is only a rocker arm or whatever but, once you open it up you are committed to the repairs and could be opening up a big can of worms. This is due to milage and you don't really know how well the car was taken care of. Smart move covering yourself Good Job!!!

Probably just a hydralic lifter tapping when cold. Change the oil in it and let it warm up before taking off. Be sure and use the correct oil, 10w/30 or whatever the manual says for your climate.

have timing belt and timing belt tensioner replace.check coolant level .power steering fluid .and tranny fluid to see whick one real low. the one you find very low that the leak. the noise you describe . you could have worn cv joints and the timing belt tensioner will make a noise if wore out.

sounds like heater core change it probably your reason.

the fans have relays that are located in the fuse box under the hood on the driver side. a quick check involves just switching the a/c clutch relay with the fan relay if they turn on when engine is hot the relay is bad. if not that means there is a bad connection or the temp probe is bad. make sure no loose or frayed wires are present. hope this helps. please rate this solution. thank you.
