Piece of lid broke off

Sand the area on bottom of piece along with areas surrounding the broken piece. Get another small piece of plastic that is large enough to cover the broken piece and adjacent areas and apply the glue to that using a good epoxy for adhesion. Let it set up and it will hold - trust me.

Agitator will not spin

check the lid switch first, lift the lid a couple of inches and close it down,if it clicks the lid switch is good and you most likely broke the motor coupling.remove the twoscrews that hold down the top console, lift it up and with a screw driver pop the metal clips and disconnect the lid switch wires in the middle,it's a white platic connector, now remove the whole cover of the washer, down the bottom you'll see the pump.with a screw driver pop the two metal clips and remove the pump, next remove the tow screws and clips holding the motor in place and pull out the motor,on the back you'll find the coupling, there should be two pieces of white plastic with three arms on each piece and a black piece of rubber that goes in between the two white pieces, remove the old coupling and tap on the new pieces one on the motor shaft and the other on the tranny shaft, slide the rubber piece on the tranny part of coupling and then line up the other piece that's on the motor shaft slide it together and put everything back,it's easier than it sounds, let me know how you make out,if you sent the model number i could of gave you the part number,i think it's PL337

This morning I opened my trunk to my 2055 Pontiac Sunfire and when I went to close it the black casing around the latch on the frame of the car came off so I put it back on and when I went to close the...

You may have inadvertently locked the latch when putting the plastic piece back on look at the latch mechanism and where the latch locks on the bar put a screw driver in the latch mechanism and then operate the lat to open it should open up then try shutting the trunk lid do it with the plastic piece off first to be sure thats the problem because if you have the plastic piece on you may make it nearly impossible to open it up. Then if it works put the plastic piece back on then make sure the latch is open and then close it does it work? if yes you did it if not write back to me for more help. Thanks for using fix-ya.

Trunk lid won`t close

make sure the latch isn't already in the closed position. next if you've already slammed the truck several times and haven't broke the latch yet, you may have bent the latch that's attached to the truck lid as the sheet metal in this area is very flimsy. using a flash light , slowly close lid while peering in to see if the latch is lining up. you should be able to tell if its bent and in which direction. i had this similar problem and i simply grabbed a hold of the latch and pulled it forward, bending it back into a position where it will line up and latch on bottom piece. ( the part attached to the body and not the truck)

I don't think you can get that as it is almost impossible to get parts like that. But this might be an idea for you .... if its hinged use Velcro strips on the face where the hinges are ... now the Velcro will show but its available in black or white ... make sure you use only the fuzzy side as the other things like dust will stick to it ... now remember you are only using it to replace the hinge and you will use it like a piece of tape, So place compartment where it belongs in closed position and place Velcro strips over the case and cover now the Velcro serves as the hinge ... I have this on my PC and it works great!!! good luck

Washing machine stops mid-cycle, water doesn't drain

Sounds like you have a bad lid switch, or the plastic plunger on the lid that engages the lid switch is broke. if the plunger is broke, it is cheap, and only 2 screws to remove and put new one on. if that is not broke, check the lid switch. This model is a lid switch, and lid lock in one. You can test it before replacing it if you have a meter. you need to hinge the lid up to check and replace the lid switch. use a putty knife, on each side between the top and top of the front panel. slide the putty knife in one side, it will hit a bracket if your in the right spot. press in, and lift on that side of the top. do the same on other side, just don't let go of the first side or it will latch again. then swing the top back, the back side is on hinges. the lid switch is on the right side attached to the top. unplug washer, remove the 2 wires on the switch and check continuity. there should be continuity, or "open" when the lid is closed, and no continuity, or "closed" when you open the lid. if it is "closed" even when lid is closed, replace the lid switch. let me know if you have any further questions, shane.

Fails to lock

Joe,

You are going to have to replace that left lid lock, Left Lid Lock. You don’t need to replace the right just unplug. Here is what is happen. The left lid lock and right lid lock “Lid is Locked” signaling are in parallel going back to the control board that is why you need to pull the plug on the right lid lock after replacing the left lid lock. The lid locks are designed to latch into the lid only a small amount with them broken off the mechanism over shoots and a signaling slide switch contact signals the control board the lid is not locked “FL” code.

The left lid lock assembly is the important one with its dual signaling function, Reed relay and lid magnet to signal the lid is closed and the “Lid Is Locked” signaling. If you don’t replace the right lid lock (I would not) tape up the plug and try to secure the wiring harness to prevent the wires from chafing. I think you have the manual and Sears Parts direct info from my previous post but just in case; The Service Manual for reference. Sears Parts Direct for reference.

Jetta 2003, trunk won't lock

More than likely the spring inside the latch has come undone. To save some money you can remove the latch from the trunk, open the latch and reset the spring. To Remove the latch you will need to remove the carpeted cover on the trunk lid (there are about 10-15 phillips screws holding it on.) Once the cover is off disconnect the rod going to the latch by opening up the clip thats connected to the actuator. Disconnect the wire harness, Remove the 2 10mm Nuts holding the latch to the lid. Remove the black plastic cover on the latch and remove the electrical piece (the plastic cover wraps over the latch and is secured buy 2 plastic pressure snaps). Look down into the latch and you should see a small spring...on my Jetta the spring wasn't connected. take a small pointed object ( I used a light tester) and reattch the spring to the black hook. Mine had some broken plastic in it and After I removed that it worked fine. Once the spring is back into place reassemble the trunk and you should be good to go. No money spent, and it only takes about a half hour or 45 mins to do.

Cover latch

You may need to tighten the screw for the metal post where it's held to the top lid. This should help to extend the metal post to reach over the plastic latch, enough to latch down the lid.
