Sony HC39e will not charge

You are okay on charging this while it is connected to TV/PC etc it does not use same pins so you have not damaged the camera by doing that.
However the reason it is not charging is a problem with the power lead and transformer in-line have you another to try?

Need driver to transfer video to using Vista

to transfer video from your camcorder to your pc you will need a firewire cable (ieee 1394). only with this cable you will be able to transer video.
you will also need a firewire port on your pc.
if you don't have one then you can buy a firewire pci card.

see this for info and pictures

I have a sony handycam digital - dvc-hc39e - i can not make it run with windows 7. Any way i can solve that?

go to device manager and try to update driver automatically ....cause if the driver for vista do not work it means that the driver is not present yet on the air ....and the choise is to get the camera to be seen as a removable storage device ....into the My computer and to be able to paste copy the files from there ...
if it has a removable storage like a stick or a SD card better work with it ...

How do I get a video from my camcorder to PC?

In order to connect your camcorder to your computer, you have to install the drivers for your camcorder and windows Operating system before you connect your comcorder to your computer. Here are the steps in sequence to install the drivers.

1- Use the CD which came with your camcorder and install the drivers.
2- After installing the drivers, Connect your camcorder to your PC and turn the dial to play (Turn on the comcorder if not on).

Follow the screen until it says ready.

3- Now click start, then computer. You should see several icons with one of them having all or part of Sony DCR-HC39E Mini DV Camcorder. If you double click on that icon, you would see one or more folders with your stored pictures and videos. Now you can download, copy delete all of them.

GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

TRANSFER TO PC

Hook up camera let windows say find new hardware. FOllow the prompts. Acording to Sony Xp has the driver already unless it is a 64 bit. See Below:
  • The drivers needed to connect most Sony® cameras and camcorders to a computer are already included in the Windows Vista and Windows XP operating systems. With these drivers, you should be able to connect and transfer files to a computer.
Note: If the your camera or camcorder is not recognized by the computer when connected, you may need an updated driver.
  • Detailed Windows Vista compatibility information is available for Sony Cameras and Camcorders.
  • The Windows Vista Starter edition and Windows XP 64-bit operating systems are not supported.
