Question about ASUS G1 Notebook

Asus G1 vga problem

For some reason my graphics card seems to be causing my laptop to not work. 2 days ago my laptop crashed, and when I restarted the graphics were messed up. Kind of like my computer thinks my monitor is bigger than it is, and only a portion of the display fits on screen. This is before windows starts. When windows does load up, the computer crashes again.
I could boot into safe mode, with the same resolution problems. Disabling the graphics card allowed me to load up windows normally(with the resolution problem, of course). Enabling the graphics card causes another crash. Not sure what to do now.

You will have to boot up into safe mode with networking first.
This is accomplished by pushing F8 while the computer is booting up.
Once you get into safe mode with networking you will have to download two programs
CCleaner
malewarebytes
these both can be downloaded at www.filehippo.com
Run malware bytes first make sure it updated remove anything that it finds
Then clean internet history with ccleaner
then boot computer up regular and run ccleaner clear internet history and reg cleaner
then run malware bytes on more time,
good luck

Asus F3S Laptop Graphics Card Died

If you have run the laptop in safe mode it uses the standard VGA graphics driver, and this indicates the onboard graphics card is still functioning.
Try connecting and external monitor to your laptop and the boot up your laptop.
Then :-
1. Download the latest graphics driver from ASUS WEB site.
2. uninstall the graphics driver.
3. Reboot the laptop and install the new graphics driver.
4. Shut down and remove the external monitor and reboot.
5. Goto the Control panel - Display and check/set the settings for screen resolution, Colour setting etc.

P5V VM-DH + EAX1600XT SILENT (256) = problem.. nahh

Did you turn your current graphics card down to 256 colors(more then likely your old video card is built into the motherboard). You have to do that before you install the card or that may be causing your error.
Keep me posted,

Icons green tint to them

I'm not sure but I think this model uses an integrated graphics card which would then involve replacing the entire motherboard.

It may be that the screen backlight is getting old - they often age by showing a tint, usually it is pink but I have seen them go greenish.

Try an external monitor connected to the laptop via the VGA d connector. If the picture on the external monitor has a good colour balance then it is probably not a faulty graphics chip, and likely to be the laptop screen.

Make sure all of the fans inside your computer are still functioning. One of them could have stopped working and it is causing the card to over heat.
