On the front of the brew unit there is a circle, part of a hole through the center of it. If your look closely you will see two index marks in the shape of an arrow - one small - one large - the arrows need to be pointed towards each other in the "Home" position - this lines up the cam with the drive unit - both in the "home position. You can use your fingers on the piston assemble to move the index marks to the proper position.

Hi,

Make sure you have brewing unit in start positions, if you have a press on your brewing unit make sure to press it to you hear a tick, then you can fit it in the machine.

A black piece fell out of my brew unit while cleaning it and I don't know where it goes or how to put it back in. Help!

I assume you mean a 5cm by 5cm squarish piece of black plastic. If so this is the part of coffee chute. When looking at coffee machine from the front it goes on left hand side of the brew unit about half way up. You slide it on below the start of the chute on the brew unit and essentially it extends the chute. It can be installed upside down. If it's fitted correctly if it looks like a 'W' when the brew unit is viewed from left hand side. If fitted incorrectly it looks like an 'M'.

Cannot place the brew unit back in place? Any sugestions?

Hi, On the back side of the brew unit is a spout that moves up on to the injecton pipe. The spout has a locking tab that is probably out of position from cleaning the brew unit. It doesn't move too much, but try to move it back into postion. Only needs to be out by a hair to stop the unit from correctly fitting back into place. Dazza REPAIRER

The chrome filter to the left of the funnel can be removed for thorough

^ Remove the brew unit.

counterclockwise while supporting the chrome filter from below.

Try taking the brew unit out, and clean the area inside the machine for coffee grains before reinserting it. There's a tiny sensor for if the unit is inserted, but it can be confused if the machine gets messy inside.

Machine is stuck in rinse cycle and brewunit

Take the brew unit out again, and try to twist the rotational mechanism so that the little arrows in the front of the axis align. This should allow you to insert the unit.
On insertion, you might also need to push the little handle on the front of the brew unit to allow the coffee trough to fit.

Your chute between the grinder and the brew unit is "glued" with coffee. Take out the the brew unit, clean it under water. Take a vaccum cleaner and put the pipe into the hole where the coffee falls into the brew unit. Move the bean container "hard" in and out ( knocking inside the maschin to loose the blockage). Switch in the main menue all to factory defaults. Put the grinder "level" into the middle again. start a brew unit cleaning process. After that you coffee must be ok again. Do not use oily beans or coated beans. the block the chute.

Sealing in the cofee machine

Hi,

You have to replace the steam valve, make sure you get one in metal.

Sometimes there will be a strange sound from the brewunit, make sure the filter in brew unit fits tight, if not you get a noisy sound from it.

Check also the hole in chassis behind the brew unit and make sure that is clean.
