Question about Microsoft Windows XP Professional With Servise Pack 2 (e8503040) for PC

I have Mc Afee total protection after a couple of days it brakes down saying your subscription cannot be verified and then verification failed I'm having to uninstall and reinstalling it every few days it's getting on my nerves now can you help please.

    your best bet is to contact mcafee via the mcafee virtual technician. to uninstall the program completely go to the following web site first (cnet) type in revo uninstaller. download this software and install it onto your pc. restart your pc even it it does not ask you to. when the pc has fully restarted, open revo uninstaller and click on uninstall in the menu. find the mcafee software, click on it and follow the instructions. when mcafees uninstaller finishes revo will go back in and find all the left over registry items and leftover files(you will be amazed at what it finds) delete all these files.then finish. restart your pc again and try reinstalling mcafee again. (tip) use revo to uninstall all your programs from now on as it cleans your registry and junk files that are usually left over by the normal uninstall.) i hope this works. let me know.

Same way you did for the first. If you don't have the disc anymore, but still have your activation code, you can find the software on their site and then activate it.

Assuming you paid the renewal fee online and you verified your payment was recived the software should update rather quickly. Try restarting the computer and see if it shows the proper subscription information. If this does not work, give it a few hours and try again. Contact the company and insure they have the payment reflected. If you received email confirmation of payment, that email usually will contain contact information for technical support or customer service issues

Have you updated your McAfee regularly? Also, McAfee may not be enough to detect spywares. I recommend spyware doctor from download.com

Your mc afee might be corrupted. So you need to install the latest verzion and then please scan the system.It is because your system is affected with malvares and viruses.So remove the older verzion and install the new one

you've just discovered one of the reasons you should NEVER have 2 anti-virus programs installed and active on your pc.
Try pressing f8 when the computer is starting up and see if will start in safe mode and uninstall it that way.

McAfee not updating


Some files might have been corrupted somehow.

As per the error, you need to uninstall Mcafee and then reboot the computer. Then once your windows boots back, re-install Mcafee from the CD you purchased. That should solve any corruption problems.

Need help uninstalling?  Click Start -> Run, then type appwiz.cpl and press enter. You will get the Add/Remove programs. Go down and select Mcafee Total Security and click on remove and follow the simple instructions on the screen.

There can be several causes to your problem.

1. Captured cookies

Every time you install an application on your computer, it is communicating with a remote center, in your case with McAfee Security Center. In order to be able to do so, it installs a small widget on your computer, to identify your settings and login information by the remote server. It is possible that somebody hacked into your computer while somehow your protection was down, and made a copy of the cookies. As a matter of fact it is possible that the intruder got acces to your registration data with Mc Afee and it is using illegaly your personal keycode.

Suggestion: - write or call McAfee and explain them all the situation and ask for a new keycode.

2. Expired licence

Usually the licence for anti-virus or other software applications, provided together with an electronic equipment, have a promo quality first of all. As a matter of fact, the duration of a licence is for a limited period of time.

Suggestion: - check if there exists any data related to licence expiration date

3. Limited number of install attempts

Some software providers are using the system of limited number of installs, especially if the software is acquired as a promo package with an IT&C equipment.

Suggestion: - check when you install the software if in the agreement is specified something about limited number of install attempts
