Fisher and Paykel IWL16 not getting water

Getting code 49 on IWL16, inlet valves don't seem to be getting 24 volts, powered with 27 volts externally and valves opened. Is motor control module bad or could the diverter valve out of position affecting the command to the motor control let valve?

I can't get the valves to operate in diagnostic mode, only when I apply power externally. Does the diverter valve position (if open) affect any of this? I don't want to spend $150 for a motor controller

if I'm unsure I need it.

Getting code 49 on F&P IWL16, inlet valves don't seem to be getting 24 volts, powered with 27 volts externally and valves opened. Is motor control module bad or could the diverter valve out of position affecting the command to the motor control let valve?

so what about the diverter valve?? Maybe I don't understand how it works. If it where open, could the motor controller not want to send power to the inlet valves

Code 49 is a faulty cold water valve fault code. Check that the valve harnesses are connected connected correctly or check that the valve is not an open circuit. If you replaced both the valves, the wires and plugs to them are ok and it's still not working then you need to replace the Main Motor Controller module, there's no way to reset this fault sorry. Thanks Kevin

Hi
Fault 49 usually points to the cold inlet valve, either open circuit or not connected correctly. we often come across machines that the motor controller is the problem too.It says that the valve tests ok and it needs the motor controller replaced.

Fisher and paykel washing machine, mw511.fault error of 3,4 and 8. How do I fix it?

If you are counting from left to right that is error 49 which means the control board is getting a bad reading from the cold water valve. That can be caused by a bad inlet valve or a bad connection on the wiring to the inlet valve or the control board itself is faulty. Unfortunately most times it is usually the control board needing to be replaced. Best get a technician out to test it.

Fault 49 pops up on the screen

If your washer is a Fisher Paykel Top-Load Washer Error Codes = 49 I found this online by typing "Washing Machine Fault 49" into a google search engine...

Error Fault Condition - Water Inlet Valve Fault.
Repair or Check - Unplug the washer from power. Reconnect any non secure wires on the water inlet valve. Replace the wire harness if it is found to be damaged. If the wiring is okay then measure the resistance of the water inlet valves using an ohm meter. If the resistance of each water inlet valve solenoid is not 60 to 62 ohms then replace the complete water inlet valve assembly.
Parts for Replacement - Water Inlet Valve Assembly or Wire Harness.

Cold&hot water valve dont seem to unscrew or do you have to buy the whole part

Fault 49 would most possibly be faulty motor controller board.
Not the water valves at all.

I purchased Fisher paykel washing machine from New zealand.Model no is IW 512 & sr No 552634 nz.I am getting fault code of 49.Please advise. The following are other symtoms It stopped abruptly after...

Fault code #49 is 'faulty cold inlet valve' You need to replace it with another COLD valve as F&P says they are different to the hot valve. These valves do not use mains voltage and must be replaced with the F&P part. Access via the 2 screws at the rear of the facia.
Remove the inlet valve retainer via the 2 screws between the inlet valves.
TIP.... I cut away the top of the valve slot so that the valve can be lifted straight up and out, without having to move the mixer box or spill any panni.
Don't forget to swap the seal from the old valve to the new one.
Once the valve is replaced the retainer makes everything secure again.
Good luck....Nomess

Error Code 49 Fisher and Paykel Washing Machine

the code error (49) is telling you that the inlet valve is not working make sure the hoses are not blocked. if you have fitted the valve and is still not working then i would try using the unit on cold if it still does not work then there must be a short in the p.c.b control board.

hope this helps a little more
