Question about Dishwashers

Door won't stay up or stay closed. The door used to be pulled in so it would stay closed and remain latched. Now it slams downward when you open it and won't remain latched when you want it to run. Some kind of counterweight seems to have disconnected.

I did replace the door latch. I could replace the hinges, which is something I was considering, but the door will still not lock. Can the hinges affect that? It will close.

What do I need to do in order to get the back door on the passenger side to close? A tech from AAA said I needed a spring for the door latch?

if it won`t close look at the door latch mechanism. there should be two u shaped claws that close around the door striker plate pin, sometimes these get closed before the door is closed causing the door not to close and stay closed. if they are closed(claws) pull the door handle to open the door and take something and push the claws out(open) then close the door.

Sharp microwave R-520K/R-520L door wont stay closed how can I repair it

There is a tension spring pulling the door latch assembly in a downward direction, keeping the door latch closed against the door switches and latch.
Spares required will be either a spring or a latch assembly both fitted inside the door. To get to them the plastic choke cover around the perrimitter of the inside of the door must be removed to reveal fixing screws.

Rear passenger door won't stay closed

Door latch on door itself is in closed position if it will not close at all. In this case, open door and pull outside handle hard to pop open door latch. If you have door opening at random, door latch needs replacing or door catch on body is loose.

Here's something that might help you. Look at the door theres a little hook that grabs the striker on car, hold the door handle "open" and move the hook to the open position try to close the door. That should solve your problem. Hope that helps you.

Our panasonic inverter microwave (3 years old) needs repeated hard slams to shut the door so that the light goes off and the microwave will work. How do we fix this problem as I'm afraid we are going to...

We have a Panasonic Inverter microwave. Door became difficult to close and had to slam it hard while holding themicrowave to keep it from moving. When opening the door did not pop open but did unlatch. I ordered a new door lever from Panasonic. When got part I removed case from microwave and lever was okay. I then removed the perimeter strip on the inside of the door. With a screwdriver I stretched the spring at the bottom that keeps the door latches pulled downward. Spring still worked just not as stiff. Put perimeter piece back on the door and replaced housing (which I didn't need to remove in the first place), and then put a small drop of vegetable oil on the cams where the door latches hit when closing door. Viola, door opens and closed as new. Problem solved. Diagnosis: over time the latch tension spring hardens and gets too stiff. P.S.: I had several similar springs as backup in case I screwed up the original one.

Driver's side door not latching / closing

pull the outside handle and unlatch the latching assembly by hand by insertins a screwdriver where the striker would normally be if the door were closed - and pry out.

You can adjust the striker by loosening the bolts, and moving it in toward the cabin.

If the door itself is droopy, adjustments are made by the hinge by loosening the bolts and lifting up or down.

Multiple attempts will be necessary to get it just right.

Dont get frustrated if it doesnt fit properly in the 1st or second attempt.
Good Luck!!

Panasonic inverter door won't shut, light stays on.

Thanks for the tips - here is what I did (my wife calls me the Canadian McGuyver!) After taking off the plastic frame (using instructions in Solutions noted above) I used the metal part of a key ring and hooked one end to the spring and looped it around the thick finger/protrusion at the bottom. _197.jpg
