Actually, the "kit" is a DIMM that plugs into the controller on the right side of the copier (when looking at it from the back of copier) On this model, you need to add 64mb of RAM if you want to add functionality to print and scan, along with the DIMM. Yes, there are 2 different DIMM's for this,....one is Print and one is Print/Scan.
PS: there is a kit to install said items that includes buttons for the controll panel and DIMM, however, the memory is separate (laptop memory or SO DIMM)

How do I use my Ricoh Aficio 1035 for scanning and can it be sent to my computer?

Yes you can use it for scanning to your computer. You must have the scan option installed to do this. Does the left side of your operations panel have a button labeled scanner? If so and you push it, it should give you the scanner operation screen. If all this is true then all you need to do is have someone setup the machine on your netrwork for scanning.
If you do not have this button or if you do and you push it says this option not installed then you will need a network print/scan kit. You can find these on Ebay for less than $200. Installation and configuration will cost you another $100.00 to $150.00

SC121

These are the possible causes of your "scanner error" (SC121). You'll need a tech to solve this:

* SIB or scanner motor drive board
defective
* Scanner motor defective
* Harness between SIB and scanner
drive motor disconnected
* Harness between SIB and scanner
drive motor power source
disconnected
* Scanner HP sensor defective
* Harness between SIB and scanner HP
sensor disconnected
* Scanner wire, timing belt, pulley, or
carriage defective

My Ricoh Aficio 1035 is not seeing the network

You will need to assign a new appropriate IP address for the machine under "user tools" system settings", "Interface settings", "Ip address".
Then create a new tcp/ip port for the printer, and point the old driver to this. Scanning may require additional work -perhaps a tech, to reconfigure the scanner. Your probably using the "scanrouter" software?
