Question about Toshiba Satellite 1800-4K1 Notebook

1 Answer

Mouse I recently brought my Toshiba ps183c laptop back to life but now the mouse buttons won't work.  I can still tap the touchscreen to act as the left mouse button and move the cursor around the screen, but I'd like the regular mouse buttons to work as well.

Well, there's not too much to those assemblies. You might want to reload the drivers, pull the assembly and check for any loose parts, check to make sure there aren't any gummy bear leftovers or potato chip crumbs down in any of the cracks and crevices. If you previously used the buttons a lot, they may just be worn out.
Also, you may want to look around for a cheap used unit that you could steal the touchpad assembly out of.

Toshiba s8995e right mouse button doesnt work

You may have to try and do System Restore on your PC to a period in time when all your buttons (keyboard refers) worked.

Another alternative is to Uninstall the most recent program you installed and you started experiencing a faulty right mouse button on your PC

The magnifier pop-up icon plus works but the minus won't work. The google help in google docs is so large that it overlaps onto itself. I'm working on a Toshiba Satellite L635---Help???

Connect an external mouse then press and hold the CTRL key on the keyboard. Just scroll down the scroll wheel located in between the left and right click buttons on the mouse and it should zoom out the page.

Hope this helps.

Stopped working

Goto device manager by right-clicking My Computer-> properties-> hardware-> device manager.
There in mice and other pointing devices category, select your mouse, uninstall it and refresh the page.
It should automatically detect your mouse.

Mouse inconsistent

Other than checking with the manufacturer for updated drivers or known issues - or attempting to roll-back the driver if a new one has been installed recently, I can't think of anything, seems to be a sticking button or otherwise faulty mouse.

Mouse stopped working, but appears ok, batteries ok, can't determine problem

Is the batteries good. If so try,

Normal 0 Press the Receiver button (and the lights will start flashing.
Then if the Keyboard isn't working, press the small RESET/CONNECT button on the back of the board to connect the keyboard to the receiver.

If the MOUSE isn’t working, push the small RESET/CONNECT button on the back of the mouse to connect to the receiver. Then they should work okay.
Hope this helps. Bud

Touchscreen problem..

probably a bad touchpad or too sensitive settings.

Check Control panel then Mouse settings and look for sensitivity. you may want to turn off "tap to click" so at least you wont open things accidentally.

If it still is malfunctioning then the touchpad can be replaced probably $80-$120 for parts and labor.
