Just bought and installed AsRock K7VT2 and CPU Athlon XP 2200plus XP Pro SP3 512 MBytes Synchronous DRAM GeForce 2 /MX400 AGP x4 The computor starts but i can't get into BIOS only got a black...

One bad lead can cause a computer to continue on a cycle or to shutdown or fail to detect your Test your PSU or replace it if your power supply units fan is not working your PSU is faulty

hard drive

Test all leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions,IDE,SATA

the leads from your "((motherboard to your hard drive))" make sure they have a secure connection and are not faulty or just replace them they could be faulty
make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty even the electical extensions or just replace them they could be faulty a computer needs its connections to continue its cycle and have an end so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error
hope this helps

RAM Slot does not recognize more than 512MB ( 184 )

Consider updating your motherboard bios.

Also make sure that your memory is correct for this system:

- Max. capacity of system memory: 2GB DDR or 2GB SDRAM
- DDR x 2, DDR266/200 non-ECC, un-buffered memory
- SDRAM x 2, PC133/100 non-ECC, un-buffered memory

Image problem

It not your motherboard . If you had issue with Video card you wouldn't be able to display anything . Try doing what it is your doing on another monitor .

Use DVI ( white ) plugs if you can for a much better image display

Please don't forget to rank my responce to your question .
Thank you

Monitor problem

Hello soltaino, your board (K7VT2), did not come with a video card. (New). If you have a video card in your PC it was added. I'll need to know the name of the card to advise you regarding a cable to connect to the monitor. My guess is it's like the pictures listed below.
The Asrock does have an AGP 4x video slot. If your board has a video card installed it's connector would connect to a standard VGA connector at both the monitor & at the video card.
Whick looks like this.
The picture above shows a female VGA port, (like on a monitor).

b9662ed.jpg See the bue cable. That's a standard SVGA cable connector.
If you can not connect to the PC you need a new video card, not a new monitor.
Suggest this card. It has both VGA & DVI connectores.

Best Regards!

You did not mention what problem you have! Either way it's an old board, if the bios is messed up all you can do is flash your bios with the latest firmware from the link below:
Or is it a setting issue?

K7VT2 with a AMD Duron 1.30 GHz CPU.

Depends on which AMD processor you would use. If Duron you could go to 1.8Ghz. If you use Athlon XP you could go to 3200+. Athlon MP 2.1Ghz and regular Athlon 1.4Ghz.

Does not power up

I think you've done a good trouble shooting job, and proved that the board is dead.
