Power but doesnt start

I just got a new mainboar (asus p5kws) and a new pc-case (arctic cooling silentum t2). I installed everything and the first halfhour it worked just fine, but then the pc shut down and couldn´t be restarted. If i open the case i see that the mainboard gets power (the green light is on), but if i press the power button the only thing that happens is that all the fans spins 2 millimeter then it stops.
Please help me!

Re: Power but doesnt start

Change the power supply. I know that is ''special'' power supply but this is the problem. I have the same problem with 90% of this cases in work! Try with another Power supply you will see.

Re: Power but doesnt start

Sounds like you are not getting a "power good" signal from the mobo telling the power supply to turn on. Something is probably wrong with the configuration or installation of parts. Try removing the RAM and all interface connectors and then see if will power up.
Make sure the power supply is set to the correct A/C voltage for your reigon.
Could be the motherboard is cmoing into contact with the chassis or something else.
Make sure the processor is inserted correctly and seated.

If it powers up. begin connecting the RAM and try again. Keep connecting something else one at a time until it fails. That will be the problem.

Won't power on is there a fuse

Hi, have you installed everything, I know its the obvious thing but I have bult hundreds of PCs and its always the smallest thing that catches you out!. Go back and double check your connections, even removing every component and starting again is a good idea sometimes. Good luck. (there is no fuse)

Read the labels for the connectors on the motherboard.

Polarity does not matter for the POWER and RESET buttons.

If the lamps for AC-POWER or HARD-DRIVE-ACTIVITY do not light-up when you expect them, then reverse the connector.

Try the PC SPEAKER connection one way, and then shutdown
the computer, reserve the connection, and start the computer.
If the "beep" at start-up is better, leave it as-is.
If the "beep" does not happen, or is quieter/distorted, reverse the connector.
