Question about Samsung SF 5100P Laser Printer
The toner on my Samsung SF 5100 P ran out yesterday, and I installed a new cartridge which has been in storage with me for over a year. The unit now refuses to print and the "TONER EMPTY" sign is on, I have tried reinstalling the new cartirdge many time, but to no avail. I have opened up the old cartridge and was surprised to see that it has quite a lot of some black powder inside, I presume that there was no need to have replaced the cartridge at all. I will be thankful for some expert advice as to how to solve this problem,I may add that this Unit has been very sparingly used I may have printed a1000 pages (max) since purchasing it a few years ago.
Here is the text of the solution, in case the link does not work:
A. The first step to take is to remove the toner and try putting it back in while the printer/fax is off, then turn the printer/fax back on.
B. Failing the above the next step is to reset the printer, which the steps are below:
i. NOTE: Resetting the printer will loose all pending faxes, preset settings and speed dials etc.
C. To reset the machine you need to disconnect the power from the device
D. With the power disconnected hold down the STOP button
E. While holding down the stop button plug the power back and don’t let go of stop button
F. Once the display screen shows “Australia” you can then let go of the stop button, then press the start/enter button. It will then say clearing memory and go back to normal and it will now no longer display toner empty/toner low.
G. This problem can be due to a non genuine Samsung toner used with the printer.

Hi there, I had the same problem. I reset the printer using steps B-E, which worked.

Tips for a great answer:
Turn off your Epson C900 printer and unplug it from your computer and from the electrical socket. Open the left-side panel of your C900 printer and locate the toner cartridge you want to replace. Epson has labeled each of the four cartridges.
Stick a finger in each of the holes in the empty toner cartridge. Pinch your fingers together and then slide the cartridge out from the printer's interior.
Remove the new toner cartridge from its packaging and shake it vigorously to remix any settled toner. Take the cover off of the new cartridge by lifting it up and out to the right. Slide the new toner cartridge into the empty slot in your C900 printer. Close the left-side panel of your C900.
