there will be a fault code and will need to go back to the workshop

check the service bill and see what was replaced at that service

engine lights refer to engine and the transmission
what fault codes were reported as many codes have more that one cause for the fault

not so good fault this one - if you are an engineer prepare for the main PWB replacement and calibration that follow ( you could try as a last resort re-writing the firmware/ replacing the eeprom chip and re-writing)
if you are a customer- suggest you upgrade your printer to something else as it will be the cheaper option. Sorry for the bad news

I used a generic scan tool on a v6 sprinter and it gave me fault code p1955 as a current code. I hooked up the factory scan tool (star diagnosis) and had no fault codes. Looked up the mercedes benz obd codes and this code does not exist. What symptoms do you have with your sprinter?
