This is usually caused by a dirty restricted fuel filter as the engine has more demand put it with the deck engaged change filter and install with the arrow pointing to the carb

Won't power up when clutch is engaged for mower deck

Something is binding in the mower deck area, perhaps and stuck bearing, bearing needs greased, stick or stone or big clod of grass caught between blade and deck or belt and pulley..
Disconnect to spark plug, and use a stick or something to spin blades manually. MAKE SURE spark plug is disconnected before EVER messing with blades. Motor could spin one time around accidentally and cut off your fingers. Disconnect plug wire and or remove plug to be absolutely sure before messing with blades. I'll say it again REMOVE plug wire from plug before inspecting blade area.

Riding lawnmower loss of power, runs ok at first but in 1/2 to 1 hr loss of power, replaced fuel filter/fuel kit

you need to check compression. sound to me that ether the valves need adjustments or you have cylinder damage causing compression loose when engine warms up. send me the model# of the mower and engine too.

The mower starts easily but loses power and stalls out

You may need to adjust the fuel mixture screw on the carb to allow more fuel under load. And check to see if air cleaner is clean.

Loss of power when engaging deck

check your compression. if you have a two cyl engine, start it and ground out each cyl (or pull off the plug) see if engine changes the rpms if one don't change check spark and compression on that side. if you only have one cyl go back to checking compression. get back to me with what you find. ps check your belts to mack sure nothing is in the pulleys like a stick and check under your deck to make sure you don't have a grass build up.
