Use a thin razorblade to release the glue on the front and there is a spring clamp holding it on the tub. May I ask if it is not damaged why are you removing it? eric

The mecahic replaced the valvle cover gaskets an the spark plug seals now it smokes like hell

These two seals do not seal the combustion chamber from the motor oil in the engine and so should not directly affect vehicle oil smoke (blue, white or grey; not black) from the exhaust. The main culprits that would allow motor oil ingress into the combustion chamber (and exhaust system) from the top of the engine and so cause oil smoke are damaged inlet and/or outlet valve oil stem seals. Your mechanic may have damaged one of these when replacing the gaskets and seals you mentioned.

How to replace a oil pan gasket 2003 mercury sable

1st. Can you remove the oil pan without partially removing the engine? If - YOU CAN'T - take it to a local ASE Professional. Concerns: 1 - rear main seal, will it be damaged when you remove the oil pan. 2. Front oil seal, pan seal, same concern? Lets assume you can remove the oil pan, ok, ... you MUST get the TWO gasket surfaces clean, smooth, I mean REAL CLEAN. SIT THE oil pan with the gasket surface up and flat, ..CLEAN THE GASKET SURFACES AND EVERY BOLT with QUICK EVAPORATING brake cleaner or acetone. Let then dry. Get some Permatex spray "red" gasket glue/sealer. Spray the pan side of the gasket with the red glue, carefully lay the gasket on the pan, use the bolts to locate the gasket, make sure the gasket is seated against the pan 100% around the edges!!!! Let the gasket dry overnight!! Then spray the face of the gasket with the red sealant before installing, do it while its still tacky. tighten all bolts finger tight, then start a criss cross pattern, start slowly tightening them (WITH A QUALITY TORQUE WRENCH) TO 50% OF RECOMMENDED.VALUE, keeping the criss cross pattern to 75%, then to 100 - 110% of FACTORY SPECIFICATION. This should stop all gasket caused leaks!!

Hi, I think the seal is damaged on my fridge freezer. It is a CB18m/1c/fan whirlpool fridge freezer. Where do i look for a replacement seal? Thank you

Is a package/or a shelf blocking the door? If a gasket is required & damaged it would be noticeably different than the look of the rest of the gasket. The door originally was held straight by the screws behind the gasket & a undamaged door liner(cracked with weight of packages will cause it to twist), if it is twisted than it can be realigned by twisting it straight & may have to loosen the screws a little first & then snug them back up after it has been twisted straight. Gaskets generally have a flat magnet in them to pull the door up to the body of the fridge & with a model number(or take the gasket to them is the worse scenario) can be obtained from a Major appliance store or they can order it.

Water in oil put new motul 7100 in and rni it for 10 min and drop the oil and it comes out grey???? o8 rmz450

The seal in the water pump has gone bad and is letting water get into the oil. The oil turns grey when water gets emulsified with the oil. The pump will need a new seal, "O" ring and gaskets. Go to this website to see an exploded view of the pump assembly; tombones49_289.gif

Smell from water remaining in grey seal

My GE washer model wcvh6400j0ww was leaking. May be standing water under your machine. The repair person thought the gasket. It turned out to be the water in-let pipe (WH41X10118 and you will need seal WH41X10119) and not the gasket. He ordered the gasket and took machine apart to replace and found cracked pipe. Take your machines front off and make sure it is the gasket leaking. Good Luck,

Oil in the engine coolant. no oil in water. I don;t think it is trans. fluid from cooler in radiator.

The seals on you oil cooler are gone. The oil cooler is located under the intake manifold. Hopefully you haven't driven the vehicle far because the grey mud created by the mixture with bake onto your engine walls sealing up the ports. It's best to have Ford (or a damn good mechanic) do the job as the whole top of the engine basically has to come apart. Roughly $3000 to fix providing you haven't damaged anything else. After the seals/oil cooler is replaced, you should flush your coolant at least 3 times. Good luck!

Torn front grey colored rubber seal, is this repairable? This rubber seal is covered with mold

These seals are not fun to replace for the average person. There will probably be a spring clamp around the front of the gasket which you can remove with a good pair of needle nose pliers. The back side will be held in with another spring or a screw clamp. If you install a new gasket just work from one side clockwise feeding it around the drum with your fingers. This can be a VERY frustrating process. If you have the extra money I would probably advise just calling a tech out. You will probably be looking at around 200 for the repair. Maybe more depending on the service call and labor.

To avoid the smell when you get a new gasket leave the door cracked between uses. You can also just run an empty load with bleach in it on the highest temp cycle with an extra rinse. (Basically highest heat longest cycle) Once a month.

Hope this helps _MJ_

Dishwasher leaking from bottom

The leak is coming from the main seal? The chopper thingy on these old machines will not come out without a fight. These impellers have been there a long time and has had lots of hard water and crud to hold them on. Get a screwdriver or a reasonable facsimile and carefully bust it off. Be careful not to damage the shaft. If you pull the whole motor assembly out, replace the rubber gasket too.
