I have used my Enviro MG21 with windows 7 and now Win 8 with no problems so I don't think it is comparability issue.

Try opening up "My Computer" and see if Enverio appears as a device, if not try adding it via "Control Panel - then add device abd manually install via the on screen instructions"

SOURCE: PC does not recognize the video recordings of my JVC Everio GZ-MG21

Actually if you just change the .MOD endings to a .MPG it should work just try it on a file you have copied but keep the original intact. I also had the same problem with the JVC piece of junk I bought. This is what I found out on the net. It works but I don't know if there is and loss in the process

SOURCE: How to transfer videos on JVC Everio GZ-MG21U camcorder to DVD

YES!!! I GOT IT!!! Ok so the comp doesn't recognize the damn camera. I went around the problem!!! OOO so excited!!! Ok sooo simple, you'll slap yourself! Ok. First plug in your USB cord to the comp and you'll see the options play on pc, pc connection, etc. Select CREATE DVD! (You won't be able to see or select any of the files you are going to import, oh well.) You should see the regular screen pop up that says import, create, view pictures. Click IMPORT PICTURES. It will automatically import both pictures and video. For file name write something you can easily locate, ex: AAAAAAAAAAAAAA (you can change it later) Then open MOVIE MAKER. Click on IMPORT on the upper left hand corner and you'll see their demo video listed. Click on picture and video files on the bottom right hand corner and select ALL FILES. You should see what was downloaded!!! YAY!! I haven't burn a DVD yet but the files are there and the program should do it from there!

Save yourself a lot of frustration. If you have this camera change the extension of the files from .mod to .mpg and it will be compatible with a lot more video editing programs.

I have an apple laptop, how do I transfer from my camcorder to a dvd on my apple.

You do not need drivers to get the footage from tape to a Mac. You do require a firewire cable and use iMovie or Final Cut to capture.

I have used my camcorder but cannot put what I videod on disc as my camcorder is not compatible with windows7

Unfortunately, you'll need to use a computer that has WinXP or Vista in order to transfer what you have on the hard drive. So you have two choices: Go to a pawn shop or goodwill, etc. and buy an inexpensive XP computer - preferably a laptop. You shouldn't have to pay more than $100 for one of these. The other option is to send your camera to a repair shop or dub house that will copy the data to disc and return both to you. Expect to pay about the same $$ for this service.
